A good safety net
February 03, 2011
This is one of those items that would be a life saver in a pinch. I knew that my wife and I would be heading out west at some point so I needed each of us to have a back up plan in case we get lost AND separated. The build quality is rather good and since it is one of the only emergency bivvy's out there like this, it is a must for every trip. The little compression sack it has with it is nice too.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat Emergency Item Everyone Should Have
October 08, 2009
This blanket comes packed so small and is so lightweight that it should be a must-have item on every outing. I purchased it for my son for Boy Scout camping as a just in case item and he used it on the very next trip as the temperature dropped way below the 40 degree rating of his sleeping bag. I was able to re-pack it so it can be a multi-use item. I am thinking of also purchasing them for our family cars as emergency items.
Perfectly Compact

The difficult part of reviewing this product is I am looking forward to 'not' using this product. I rated it "good" because I have not actually used it, but do appreciate everything I have seen so far. The unit comes compact, rolled in a bag and ready to drop in your daypack or emergency kit. Like most products like this, I anticipate it to me noisy, but that is yet to be seen. It is very light. What is nice is this does have its own bag to store it in so if you do use it, you can stuff it somewhere when you are done.
Pros: Ease of use, Great value, peace of mindGreat emergency bivy

This bivy is waterproof and incredibly small/lightweight. It is rather fragile and I would not recommend this for long term camping. I purchased this bivy to throw in my pack when going for a summit bid. Basically, it's my backup plan. I was blown away by how small this bivy is in its bag. It is literally a 3 across and ways nothing! There is no reason not to have this item in your pack when weight is a consideration...and for this price, in can be considered disposable, which is probably good since it is very difficult to get the bivy bag into its bag.
