Fit Tip: This item has a relaxed fit. Item fits loosely on body, more room for range of motion and extended comfort. Has a every day casual appearance. Most customers size down one size.
Engineered to look and feel like wool, this Covert Collar Zip pullover features a new fast-drying Polartec® Thermal Pro® sweater knit fabric that breaks away from the standard fleece-style appearance. It's a great middle layer for skiing, snowboarding and winter hiking, but it also does double-duty as a casual sweater for work or social outings. The 1/3-length front zip allows for easy venting, too.
Stylin' in my new Arc'teryx: Covert Collar!
I live in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada, and I expect to get a lot of wear out of my Arc'teryx: Covert Collar. Right now (late August) it is a great sweater-type layer in the mornings - it was 29 F yesterday morning! And it will be perfect with a windshell as I hike Grey Mountain this Labor Day weekend. As we go into the winter, I am looking forward to wearing it under my down parka as the temperature gets down to -30 F... not mention throwing it on as I head for the outdoor facilities :-) It's full enough cut that it doesn't bind across the shoulders, and the fit and finish are great! I'm getting compliments on the "Green Bean" colour too! Thanks Altrec!
The best pullover ever.
This sweater is the single best pullover I have ever owned. Not only is it warm, its even it is fluffy and comfortable- ideal for using as a pillow while traveling.
Why take it off?
Perfect...an Arc'teryx product with a relaxed fit on my 215 pound frame. Can layer under and wear a shell over resulting in huge range of comfort. Use mine on backpack, canoe, and ski trips and it still looks presentable enough to wear to church on Sunday. The occasional sale price bumps the product to a "5".

Beautiful sweater
I brought this sweater after reading the reviews and half expected it to be too big and too dark in color for my personal preference. Much to my pleasure neither things were true. This sweater is a beautiful denim blue, absolutely plush, and sexy soft. The price is so reasonable that I've decided to spoil the ones I love by giving this as a holiday gift--You may want to consider this too! As far as size goes, the sweater fits me perfectly because I intend to wear it as a second layer and not next to my skin. I am a smaller framed medium if this helps.
Super fit, quality, comfort. Another winner from Arc'teryx!
Haven't gotten the oppurtunity to use the jacket yet (summer in Memphis) but I love it so far.
It's got a super fit. I was told they run a tad "larger" and I'm borderline Large/XL so the Large was PERFECT (cut close but not tight). Quality shows everywhere, like in the welded pocket, giving it an almost unnoticeable technical look but still looks like it'd be great for on/off the slopes.
Smooth exterior looks more like wool than fleece. I'm sure it will keep me toasty warm!
Covert Collar Zip Is Superb
This shirt is a classic. It is light in weight but heavy on protection in cool and windy weather. I took the advice to size down and was not disappointed; there was still plenty of room for me on during my bike-run-bike outings. The Covert Collar Zip is definitely going to be part of my regular outdoor activity wardrobe.
Great fleece for in between temperatures
This is a great fleece for wearing on its own in 50-60 degree weather (w/o wind this is a very breathable garment) or under a waterproof/windproof shell at much cooler temperatures. I wear it skiing in the winter, to class in the spring, and at night in the summer. I love it.
Excellent!
This is a great sweater, very comfortable, functional, and it looks great too!
A Must Have!
The Arcteryx Covert collar Zip is a very awesome midweight insulator layer, it has a wonderful feel to the material and is dressy enough to be worn around town after skiing. Highly recommended and a must have for the winter season.
Uh, good
Ja, this is good. I have the covert and it is cool, actually hot. Very warm for the weight, texture looks really cool. Great for layering. Ja, that's all for now.
WARM!
If you are looking for a sweater like garment to wear about town or 100 miles away from the nearest town. Then, I must recomend this for anyone looking for a multipurpose sweater for work or play. The only drawback is that it runs a bit big, or the design was intended to be looser fitting. Regardless, it is well worth the extra up-front cost of acquisition. Just remember it has multiple uses.
Very nice
Nice to find clothing that has a tapered fit - sometimes I feel like I need to gain about 50 lbs. to make clothing look right. The zippered neck could be an inch or two longer, but I likr it a lot anyway.
Looks good & keeps ya warm.
This is a sharp looking synthetic sweater that works well as a mid layer for inbounds skiiing or probably best just around town. It is decidedly not intended to be a technical garment. The coolest part is the way they knit the fleece - looks great. So if you want a good sweater that has a technical look; this is a very nice piece of clothing. If you need a hardcore insulation piece, there are more specialized offerings from Arc'teryx.
Great Casual Fleece
A great looking fleece ... feels like a sweater. Athletic fit so it's not like other bulky fleece pullovers.
Beautiful Garment
I purchased a redwood CCZip on the recent blowout sale (for $35, Thank you Altrec) and it is really such a beautiful piece that when I took it out of the box I was blown away by its rich colour and deep texture. Arc'teryx proves once again that fleece can be just about anything you make it. The thing looks so good that function becomes almost a secondary consideration, though no doubt it will do everything for which it is designed. If you buy the CCZip for someone as a gift better get one for yourself too because you probably won't part with it after all.
Every-wear sweater!
Arc'Teryx workmanship shines through on every product they make. This sweater is no exception. The thermal pro fabric is warm, breatheable & slightly wind resistant. I haven't had it long enough to determine if it will pill. The seams are tightly & evenly stitched, and the hem, cuffs, and collar are bordered with a soft micro fleece that never chafes or rubs. There is a radio-welded pocket on the upper left arm - very sleek & unobtrusive. Just big enough for some chapstick, keys, a knife, or gel.
The neck zipper is not very long, so venting could become an issue if you're working hard. It's a sweater that will still look good when you're having a latte after the climb. I wish I had bought two when they were on sale.
warm warm warm
This sweater is warm warm warm, snappy looking and breathes well. It's also light. Probably too warm for anything like cross country skiing, it's great for lift-skiing and knocking around town. I like it!
Nice fit; quality piece
If you have a big head, the small neck zipper opening might be to small. Honestly, that is my only complaint. Looks great off the hill, too.
different fleece
Favorite thing about this pullover is the way this fleece is woven. The fabric looks neater and less fuzzy. A nice change from your typical fleece. Only negative comment is, zipper could be longer. Removal is difficult, especially when one is wearing any sort of visual aid.
nice casual/insulation piece
This is a cool looking fleece. It looks and feels like town casual sweater. Yet serves its purpose in backcountry. As all Arcteryx products, CCZ fits me well. Unfortunately it peels off a bit on sides. I found it out after I carried Arcteryx Quever over my shoulder for some time. Looks like CCZ is not tough enough to work in tandem with shoulder bags like Quever. Oh well, nothing is perfect.
