Description

No excess features, with everything you need and nothing you don't, the durable, dependable, and lightweight Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket for Men is just 12.9 oz of storm fending protection. Designed for fast alpine adventures, the Alpha LT is constructed from GORE-TEX® Pro Shell 3L making it extremely waterproof, snow-shedding, windproof, breathable, lightweight, compressible, and packable. Its redesigned Speed Hood™ covers your noggin in a flash, WaterTight™ zippers seal the worst of winter, and its Arcteryx HemLock keeps the jacket under your harness as you place your next piece of protection. Don't be fooled by the weight of the Alpha LT, the supple GORE-TEX® Pro may be light but it's just as waterproof and much more breathable than its heavyweight counterparts. Easily an everyday jacket, the Alpha LT is just the right weight a shell should be. The zippers are extremely water resistant, and the Napoleon pocket placement is perfect if you are using it with a harness, not to mention the foam inserts. If you're looking for an all around shell that's lighter than most but provides all of the durability of Pro Shell, this Arc'teryx jacket is it!

Men's Alpha LT Jacket 5 5 31 31
Typical Arc'teryx quality I have a good friend in the outdoor industry and whenever I ask him about the merits of this or that mid-level product he commonly comes back with, "Or you could just wait until you can afford Arcteryx and then know you got the best"! Right again. I've had a series of three Marmot GoreTex parkas over the years and they've all worked quite well but once again this jacket beats them all. Outstanding build quality and features. The hood adjusts via three elastic-cord adjustments and can be made to fit well with my helmet on or off. The rear hem is a bit longer and so covers well when I bend deeply while skiing and the hem has foam inserts along the sides which keep the hem from pulling up under a harness or pack hip belt. To be honest the waterproof pit zips are a bit stiff and not easy to open/close but experience shows these loosen up in time and may just take a bit of getting used to. Overall an outstanding piece of equipment (once I chose to afford it!) November 30, 2011
Rain Shell I used this jacket as rain shell for my recent visit to costa rica. It was light enough to be folded and packed on my back pack. The side vents on this jacket makes it breathable on warm air and rainy day. The front pockets kept my phone dry and protected from the rain. Awesome and versitile jacket! October 25, 2011
Great jacket Got this jacket a few months ago, and I love it. Fantastic fit and looks great. Unbelievably water prof. If you are looking for a tough jacket that is going to keep you dry, look no further October 21, 2011
Great I'm having my eye on the jacket. I love the hood, the look and the feel. It's super lightweight, durable and breathable. With a Pat R2 or a Micropuff vest underneath it, I still had comfortable body. It is a easy-to-pack jacket. Perfect for 4 season. I usually stuff this in the bottom of my pack. Really pleased with this Jacket. October 6, 2011
solid purchase I have been looking for a new rain/ascent jacket for quite some time and when i came across the Alpha LT I was sold. Without being built with Paclite the jacket is still very lightweight and very packable. The waterproofing you get is outstanding; you can see the Pro Shell at work when water is simply beading and running off the shell. And I don't find myself pouring with sweat because the excellent vapor-escape capability allows my upper body to breath, which is handy when working hard on a climb or simply walking around in rainy/muggy weather. Plan on having this jacket for years to come; I've also had the Arc'Teryx Sidewinder Pro Shell for snowboarding for a few years now and the product quality is still performing as new. I can safely say that I back the Alpha LT jacket %100. August 24, 2011
Pricey, but Solid... The Alpha LT, while expensive, has yet to disappoint. No matter the weather conditions I always have it with me. I use it as a shell skiing, backpacking/camping, and still casual enough to not look tech-ed out around town. As far as performance, I have been in rain for hours skiing in the NW and stayed dry. Wind proofing is excellent as well, but do not except much warmth since it is obviously just a shell. Hood is very simple to use as well as being highly adjustable using several different pull tabs. I have yet to have an issue with breath-ability while wearing the jacket, but have not had much experience while in warmer, wet climates quite yet. I layer the Alpha LT with the Atom Lt (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and the combo is perfect! Performance wise, the Alpha LT has performed exactly as a $500 jacket should! My only issue has been with the size/fit. I am 5'11" 185lbs and originally ordered a Large. The large fit good around the waist but felt too roomy in the shoulders and too long for the sleeves. I have since exchanged for the medium and find the fit to be like a glove! I am still able to layer my Atom LT under the Alpha and have enough dexterity to freely and comfortably move around. The waist does not provide much room, but maybe I should just run more. Overall, very high quality jack still made in Canada that is expensive, but if you got the change you will not be disappointed! 3 ply so you always stay dry great materials. simple and clean design. tight as a drum. you could go shower in it and never get wet. though i am pretty certain this would only make your friends know that you are crazy....about the jacket. wear it around town. on your hike. or bike ride. just wear it. and for this much money....you should get a lot of use and a lot of value from it. simply put...this jacket rocks. get one. now. Perfect Technical shell I bought this for myself and my friends. I am 5.9 and 200LBs. The Large is fiting me well. It aslo has some room for the fleece insulation. The GoreTex Proshell is the best waterproof material in the world. And this shell's design is perfect compare to other brand's similar product. LT is light and comfortable. I will like to recommend if you are looking for a technical shell. It's one of the best in the world. March 29, 2011
perfect jacket! great! This is a very powerful jacket! Allows me to have a good time outdoors hiking protection! I have recommended him to a friend! Currently this jacket than any jacket I have powerful! I will then buy a spare! March 18, 2011
super lightweight if you're looking for a jacket for the outdoors you won't find a better choice. Incredibly lightweight, perfectly streamlined fit (I'm bulky enough by myself thankyouverymuch) and the welded seams are a godsend. Snowstorms, rainstorms, wind, they're all no match for the Alpha LT. I tend to leave the pit zips open unless it's storming, it keeps it from going clammy. March 3, 2011
The perfect lightweight expedition shell I don't know what it is about Arcteryx (AKA "dead bird") jackets, they just seem to have the perfect fit and functionality. I always bulk at the prices of this brand, but so far what I've bought has been totally worth it. I have two nearly identical hard shells, a go-lite and this Alpha LT, both the same weight, both goretex. But the Arcteryx fits much better and somehow seems warmer and more protective. Kudos to Arcteryx for their clothing. No idea yet about its durability, used it 3-4 times and not a scratch so far. Buy this jacket. February 26, 2011
Great Jacket This jacket surprised me with it's warmth. The shell is so light but strong. It even kept me warm during a Nor'Easter in Maine, battling 30mph winds on a chair lift. The only negative is the color isn't as bright as I thought it would be, but I'm perfectly happy just the same. January 17, 2011
For the Weight-conscious Buyer The main thing about this item is weight. Arcteryx eliminated the following to make this light weight: -membrane between the gore-tex layers -adjustable waist elastic band -elastic at wrists That's about all I could see when I tried it on. I don't know how durable this material is. It is very, very thin--like the Visio Comp, but thicker than the Celeris. But since it is thin, it is very flexible, and less noisy. December 19, 2010
Great purchase! Love this shell. Perfect for various climates. Layers well and keeps me dry. November 2, 2010
Awesome Shell! I own a dozen different Arc'Teryx garments and this is by far the best and most versatile. It is nearly as light as my paclight but much more durable. The fit is excellent and the features are the well designed by the best designers in the industry. The best shell going! October 15, 2010
Great jacket I wore it in terrible conditions, and it never let me down. The material is bomber, the construction exceptional, and the fit superb. It's super light.Great jacket October 11, 2010
Great Lightweight Technical Shell You get what you pay for with Arc'teryx. Arc'teryx fit is a little on the slim size which I find great. None of the bulky material that many other brands have. I am 5'11" and 160 pounds and the medium fits great. Super weatherproof, lightweight, and all the features you could want. Quality and workmanship is excellent. Don't have any negatives about this one. I have had many jackets over the years and this is by far and away the best. Can't comment too much on durability, have only had for a year. So far so good though. October 4, 2010
great I bought the Gamma MX softshell earlier this year expecting to return it thinking it was far too much to spend on a softshell. Well, it lived up to its hype. I bought this piece for climbing Rainier, and although I have yet to make that climb, it's an incredible piece of equipment, keeping me bone dry in downpours. When it comes to performance wear, spend the extra few bucks. These pieces will last longer and even out the $ over time, plus you'll be more comfortable. Only gripe - i bought the lichen color thinking it was closer to yellow than barf green... well it's pretty barf green and not as bright as the picture shows, so i exchanged it for the naranja. August 20, 2010
It is a good-looking highest jacket. It looked for a jacket that I could use used to climb a mountain. It is the highest standard jacket, Protecting me very well from the elements and keeping me insulated. The delivery and purchase went very smoothly. June 6, 2010
Solid! I bought one of these last month, and it is hands down the best technical shell I have ever owned. It is totally wind-proof and water-proof without any treatment. A bit expensive, but worth the money if you have it! May 7, 2010
Another quality Arc'teryx product Bought the Sidewinder AR from Altrec a year or so ago and it is a superb product. Primarily used for skiing - the shell provides excellent versatility depending on the conditions. Also, probably the best Goretex jacket I've ever owned - used in torrential downpours and kept bone dry. Extremely hardwearing. Recently bought the Alpha for a more lightweight option. More of the same. Another quality product and great service from Altrec. You can't beat Arc'teryx in terms of quality. March 29, 2010
one of the best if not the best shell from arc teryx/altrec so far used this shell 20 days in all kinds of weather since recently purchased...love it and price was reasonable for Arc-teryx!!! February 20, 2010
quick delivery, best shell ever owned Needed a light weight shell for photoing winter backcountry and summer hiking. This great shell (large fits great w/ plenty room for fleece-5'10" 180- 42") is my answer. Moisture will not stick, inside or outside any liquid shakes right off (no xtra weight+++). Only 4 B/C jaunts so far the shell appears bomber. Quick delivery from Altrec as usual. February 4, 2010
Great Jacket for The Wind I bought this jacket as a combo for a ski trip and an upcoming work trip to Siberia. So far, I've been wearing it around NYC, which while not an extreme environment has extreme wind in the winter due to all the buildings. The Alpha is probably the first shell I've had where I don't feel anything! I've got a lot of confidence that this is the performance shell I've been looking for. January 9, 2010
Great jacket for burning the slopes! Hi Tech jacket and very good design to forget you're wearing a ski jacket, just skiing more and more! November 30, 2009
Pricey, but worth it I own a variety of shells and this one beats them all hands down. The jacket may come across as being fragile, it is anything but that. My frame is fairly large and muscular at 6'2" and 205lbs, but a size large fits perfectly with plenty of room for multiple or one heavy layer beneath. October 14, 2009
Superb Jacket, exactly what I had been looking for! I ordered this jacket based on reviews, but as soon as I put it on I realized I had found what I needed. The cut is PERFECT. Mine is a (M), and I am 5'10" and 169lb. The Picasso Red is awesome, it should be called Ferrari Red, it just has THAT shade of red. Almost as light as the Beta, but sturdier, with Zip pits, fully adjustable hood, perfect length front and back (length is longer than Beta but slightly shorter than Theta), and the fit is nice and athletic in Medium! I can wear my Hercules or any other fleece underneath it and it looks and feels GREAT! I absolutely LOVE this jacket. Expensive but WORTH the money! I have ZERO regrets! If you can afford it get it, you will not be sorry. It breathes beautifully too. January 31, 2009
The best shell available The fit and function is outstanding. The red is eye catching and the weight of the jacket is unmatched. August 21, 2008
Awesome Shell I own at least a dozen Arc'Teryx garments and this shell is one of the best! It is incredibly light and durable thanks to the three layer GoreTex Pro Shell. I highly recommend this piece. July 28, 2008
Arc'teryx Alpha LT jacket is super rain shell. The quality of this light weight jacket is unsurpassed for waterproof Gore-tex shells. Arc'teryx zipper sealing is a work of art for technical performance. Shorter length perfect for active wear. December 26, 2006
You won't find a better all season shell This jacket performs very well over fleece or on its own. The quality is the reason I have switched my gear to all Arcteryx. December 7, 2006
