arcteryx beta ar pant
April 26, 2012

These are great ski pants. I wear them for alpine skiing. What I like is they are a shell--no liner inside so I don't overheat. I rather layer with base layer underneath depending what the tempature is. Highly recommend these pants. I have also used for backcountry and they are nice because you can zip the sides down to allow venting.

Awesome
June 27, 2011

There are two words that summarize Arc'teryx products: superior quality. If you want a pair of four-season pants for anything outdoors, get these. They're incredibly durable, waterproof, breathable, 3L Gore-tex ProShell, and consistently rated 5 out of 5 stars by various online reviewers, not just by me. I can't wait to take these hiking/trekking as rain/snow pants as well as skiing all winter. I'm 6'3" and have a 34-35" waist and 34-35" inseam - the Tall Large fits me perfectly.

Great all around pants
November 15, 2012

I love these pants, the only downside is that they run a size large. I normally wear a size large and I was swimming in the size large of these pants. These pants seem to be very durable and are re-enforced around the knees and butt. I was going to wear these pants for snowboarding. They are definitely warm enough for that. They would also be good for winter hiking and mountain climbing. I like these pants alot, but I am going to size down to size medium. I also tried the stingray pants and I wear those pants in a size large. The stingray pants seem more specific for skiing/snowboarding, whereas the Beta AR's are more all around.

Arc'teryx Beta AR
July 04, 2011

These are very durable and functional pants. Compared to other GoreTex shell pants I used to have, the Arcteryx are indeed waterproof/windproof, and for a much longer time. After some intensive usage they do not seem to require any treatment (Nikwax) to restore waterproofness, as it happens to my non-Arcteryx GT gear.

Men's Arcteryx Beta Pants
November 13, 2011

Bought these pants for my move from Florida to Washington state - glad I got em. We finally got some snow in the Cascades and I got to try them out on a five mile hike in the mountains. I had a pair of Polar tec long johns on and these pants - I was warm and comfortable and most important - DRY!! They fit great and they are built to last. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for!! Looking forward to more snow and more back country hikes!! I like em' so much I'll get a pair for my girlfriend!

Superior ski pants; check sizing
December 09, 2011

High quality... superior ski pants. My only advice is to double check the sizing. For me, they were too full/baggy on the back side. I need to return for a smaller size. Great product!

great product
April 15, 2013

Like most products from Arcteryx, very well made. provides warmth even with no inside liner. light weight to the point where you don't feel the layer on the legs. Great for different seasons as you can layer up or down. highly reccomend

Pros: Great design, Ease of use

Fantastic Pants
December 13, 2009

There is no doubt that this is an expensive piece of outerwear, but Arc'Teryx makes such great gear that there was no doubt in my mind these were worth every penny. They're lightweight, tough, and won't let a drop of water through. Spent a day hiking in 2-3 feet of snow and brush and these shrugged of the conditions easily. Looking forward to getting them on the slopes.

Perfect Shell
January 30, 2010

I'm 5'9"/160 and I picked up the Large/Short and these are perfect for me. Lightweight with room for layers underneath on the cold days. Haven't taken them on the slopes yet but they worked great snowshoeing and hiking. Best shell pants I own.

Another quality piece from Arcteryx!
December 07, 2011

Haven't had a chance to use these yet but the fit and finish it top notch - typical of Arc'teryx. I normally wear 30" inseam pants and thought I might be between sizes (S-28.5" and R-30.5"). I bought the short length and they are perfect, so I'd say they seem to run a little long. My last pair of rain/wind pants only had an elastic/draw string waist so the front snap and zipper on these will be very convenient.

Great Pants For So Little Money
December 30, 2012

I own the BETA Jacket and the pants are just like the jacket, everything you need and nothing extra. Very light weight makes you think they might not perform or hold up not the case. I like the light weight, means I won't overheat when it warms up but is still wet.

Fit issues
February 15, 2013

These are a really high quality product if you have the right build to have them fit right. Super light, rain proof shell with all the features you would want for alpine climbing. Unfortunately I had to give up. I am about a 35/30 or 36/30 with meaty thighs (5' 10" 200 lbs). I was swimming at the waist in the large and the medium was way too skinny and restricted mobility but allllmost fit right. Both pair were kind of tight on the thigh and hip area. These could be ideal if you have skinnier or lanky legs. Sort of a skinny fit I guess would be the right way to put it. For such expensive pants they really should have more sizing options, but that goes for all gore tex pants!

Great Shell
February 27, 2013

These pants are exactly as advertised. They are a true shell pant, very thin. The material has proven durable so far. I have several other garments in this material and have great luck with it. I use these pants for backcountry skiing. So I really like the light weight. They fit larger than the size chart would indicate, so there is plenty of room for layers under them. So far the waterproof has been great (again, I have other garments in this fabric.) The side zip is a bit long for my tastes, I would prefer just a vent, but that is a personal preference of mine for b/c use. They are not as windproof as I hoped, but the are adequate. The fit is a bit long. Overall I really like the pants and have always had luck with the quality of Arc'teryx.

Excellent quality
March 02, 2013

Been skiing this week in the Pyrenees, Spain wearing the Beta AR Pants. Just loved them, perfect fit with excellent wind/snow protection. Very light pants that require thick underwear in very low temperatures but since they are more or less windproof, it is easy to stay dry and warm. Also really liked the ventilation-zippers for hotter days on skins up the mountain.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: not warm enough in very cold conditions
