Description

If you prefer a knit sweater style, check out the refined look and feel of the Arcteryx Men's Covert Zip Neck. This fleece sweater offers classic wool sweater good looks with all of the technical performance and light weight of polyester fleece. It works great as a casual sweater for dinner and a movie, and it can double as your mid-weight ski layer. Either way, this beautiful sweater takes fleece fabric to a new level of sophistication. The Polartec® Thermal Pro fleece fabric breaks from the standard fuzzy fleece look in favor of a more traditional wool knit appearance. The Covert remains highly breathable and very warm. Its dense weave rivals the warmth of any sweater on the market, while its breathability and quick drying nature make a great mid-weight active layer. The Arcteryx Men's Covert Zip Neck is the fleece sweater that looks as good as it performs.

Good fitting top that is also very warm. I have worn this top under a shell for downhill skiing and it provided great insulation. Arround the house or running errands this top does the trick.

Very warm, very confortable
July 04, 2011

I wore this product last weekend, and still today. At the first, I love its neck. When zip is up, the neck follows the border of my head (it's dificult to explain but so confortable). Second, it's feel as a perfect fit and without movement restrictions. At the third, very warm (inside and outside too. ask any girl). Finally, if you need to wear a coat, this product accomodate perfectly inside the coat. I recommend it to all my friends.

Comfortable, great fit, warm & durable
May 04, 2011

This is my second Covert Zip Neck, and I have to say I love them both! They fit perfectly, almost athletic fit, but loose enough that they feel like a broken-in sweatshirt, but without the extra weight and the superior breathability. Wonderful to layer, and it feels great just worn over a t-shirt, as long as the wind is not blowing, or better yet, inside a tent or even indoors. This is an absolute favorite and gets used almost every day when the weather cools down. I prefer the zip neck over the jacket, because the zip neck does not have side pockets, which make the jacket a little stiff around the waist, and to me it just looks cleaner. Great quality. My original Zip neck is over 3 years old, been used a ton, and still has plenty of life left. Although there is nothing like the skin-feel of brand new Polartec. Highly recommended. Not cheap but worth the money.

What a great pull over. If you put a t-shirt on under it, you are comfortable down to 32 if the wind is not blowing. If you need wind protection it is thin enough that you do not look like the tire man if you put on a shell. The zipper is a little shorter than some so it is tight going over your head but does not bother you once you have it on. I am 5'9" and 165 and the medium fits snug. If you want a loose fit go with the large. Don't let your seat belt rub on it around your waist or you will soon notice wear marks.

Best Fleece Ever!
March 23, 2011

Runs pretty true to size. Very lightweight and warm although not good in wind. Washes up great and so far, shows no signs of wear'n'tear. I will probably be picking up another color soon. Would like to see some big pockets but it isn't a jacket per se. So far it has worked great outdoors and on casual days at the office.

Non-wool Sweater
January 26, 2011

Order 1 size smaller than you usually wear, with Arc'teryx. So if you usually take an XL, order a Large. Also, only wear a base layer under this, and then a shell on top; though you might be able to squeeze a little more insulation, if your shell is a soft-shell. For example, base layer + Covert + down + Gamma MX. Also note that this piece feels more bulky, as opposed to its nylon competitors, like the Atom. That's the cost of using polyester--it stretches, but it also grabs and is sticky. Nylon doesn't stretch, but it slides an is slippery. So nylon feels less bulky when you are layering. I like the tight hem and sleeve cuffs. Also the sleeves are not too long, like most Arc'teryx pieces.

Great layering piece
January 01, 2011

Our family owns and regularly wears several versions of the Arc'teryx Covert line. They are exceptionally warm and just as importantly look much nicer than the typical sweatshirt/fleece. I've worn this as a sweater to work several times with khakis and it looks very nice. Altrec shipping is very reliable and they are great to do business with. One note: We originally ordered the woodsmoke color and it is a bit darker than what it appeared on our computer screen. We exchanged it for the Lt. Carbide and couldn't be happier.

Good pullover
December 18, 2010

I love this jacket. The fleece feels nice and the sleeve pocket is good for money/cell phone/whatever. My only complaints is the length of the sleeves. The waist fits fine but sleeves hit just shy of my wrists. Overall, I'm quite satisfied

Great Sweater
December 06, 2010

Loved this sweater because it was warm, light-weight and looked like a wool knit sweater. The cut is great and although it is a bit sculptured, it fits much looser than the arcteryx athletic/performance fit clothes. I sadly returned mine because I overlooked the "sweat patch" in the item description. I don't sweat between my shoulder blades and I don't care to have double-thick fabric bulking up the top of my back.

Most Favorite Piece of Clothing
November 28, 2010

Although this sweater/fleece seems pricey, it is well worth it. Between myself, husband, son, and daughter, we own 6 of these. We call them our "social fleece" because we wear them out as sweaters. The are also great for layering for skiing. When you take your shell off in the lodge, you still look great! We love the fabric and colors. Fabric looks great after many washings!

Most Comfortable Sweater Ever
October 26, 2010

Iv owned two of these now and I love them. You can wear them all the time because the fabric breathes and allows airflow even when you go into warmer indoors. This can mean the sweater is a bit cold in windy situations but just wear a base layer underneath and its perfect for cold mornings. Most versatile sweater iv ever worn. Im usually a large (5' 11" 170) but if i wear a medium because i dont like my jackets to be baggy. The sleeves fit great and waist line is right below the belt. I will wear this sweater as long as they keep making it. Wish they had more colors though. Arcteryx did it again

Excellent sweater
October 14, 2010

My wife bought this sweater for herself (176cm tall / 5'9"). Fortunately for me it was too large for her, but fits me perfectly (182cm /5'11"). It is my favourite sweater and I wear it all the time in the winter season. It is durable and very comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone, but beware that it is quite large.

Better than fleece.
May 09, 2010

Bought two of these for my husband because we both love the design and quality of Arc'teryx products. His initial response was to return them because he didn't need any more fleeces. (He probably has more than 40.) I talked him into keeping them saying that they were more like fleece/sweater hybrids. But more importantly, they are more stylish, comfortable, and warmer. He figured these things out the first time he wore them. They are now his "favorites". He looks so much sharper in these sweaters than his "slouchy-looking" fleeces. It does have a trim, athletic fit. So if you like roominess, order up. My only complaint is that the knit does tend to pill. But that wouldn't stop me from buying more.

This Arc'teryx item is absolutely warm in the winter, and it 's so stylish, its materials 'Polartec Thermal Pro' is so comfy, I love this .

I bought this to wear to work and use for skiing and other winter activities. It's incredibly comfortable and really fits well. I couldn't be happier. Thanks for such a great product.

Great and warm shirt/jacket for the cold winter months
February 19, 2010

This is the third one of these we have bought. My husband accidentally left his in Florida and was really missing it so I ordered another one for Valentine's Day. He has been wearing it practically non-stop. I love mine too.

I Love This Fleece
February 10, 2010

I have one in navy that i bought 2 years ago and it has be all over the USA. My son took it with him when he went to Philmont . Iam 5' 11" and 160 lbs and a large fits me fine.Bring back the navy blue and i will buy some more. If they stop making this fleece i will be at least 3 or 4 more. When I find something i really love i keep buying it. Thanks Mark Lloyd

Great for layering
January 24, 2010

I bought one of these in XL and it fit me perfect (6'3 190 lbs) - have used it as a mid layer for skiing and as casual with jeans - it is extremely comfortable and warm!

One of the best of the best
January 06, 2010

This is one of the best layering items I have ever purchased. Although made in China, the quality is excellent. XL fits great in the shoulders, chest and arms but just a bit full in the body (6'2" and 227lbs). I will be purchasing another from Altrec.

Brian Russell

Great fleece! my favorite!
December 21, 2009

A very stylish and warm fleece. I am 6'3" 175# and a large fits me perfect. Just long enough in sleeves and torso length. The only thing I dislike is, I wish it had a 1/4 length zipper but besides that I love it.

John R Morcom

It started out innocently enough....
December 21, 2009

I bought one of these in a discontinued color(mahogany)for a great sale price....REALLY liked it, fits perfectly (XL for 6'2", 215 lbs),warm without being stuffy...since then bought the dark slate (also on sale) and finally the Miro Blue....and a cardigan besides (for my Dad)...just bought my girlfriend one for Xmas as well...I am living in these things...they are comfortable and good looking and well made...go great with jeans and office clothes...NO MORE for now....unless of course they go on sale after Xmas. Try one....they will become your favorite fleece/sweater in no time.

looks great
December 21, 2009

This shirt looks great and has more of an European fit, so go up at least one size if you don't like it tight. I wear S in North Face jackets, but M in Arcyeryx.

December 21, 2009

best fleece ever!

A great pullover for around town and out of town!
December 18, 2009

This pullover will dress up any pair of jeans for doing any around town activities and it is also a terrific layering piece under a shell when doing more serious outdoor trekking. A great Arcteryx item as always!

Very Warm and Comfortable
December 18, 2009

Very warm and comfortable. Fits well and is not bulky. Extremely well made!

Why buy anything else?
December 13, 2009

The question is has Arc'teryx ever made anything that is not great? I have three covert pieces, zip neck, full zip and hoody and they all work great. I am 5'10', 165lbs and I wear a medium if I am wearing the item as a shirt and a large if I want to wear it over something. I have been wearing these items for several years and after many trips to the washing machine they still look like the day they were purchased. They are warm alone to about high 30s but lower than that you need something to break the wind. Hopefully they will have new colors next year so I can have an excuse to buy another one.

John R Morcom

Warm, extremely comfortable, well made, good looking....
December 11, 2009

and a great mid layer under a shell. Also, great price on sale. Less bulky than conventional fleece....sweater weave on the outside dresses it up nicely but still the warm feel of fleece on the inside. Great all round sweater.

light warm and so comfy
