awsome

June 04, 2012

I ordered some other Arc'teryx T-shirts with this one and I think this is the best. I have several baselayers from other brands but this became one of my favorites. Very light, super soft, comfortable, and it fits my upper body amazingly nicely. Also I like the color of it. I already recommended to my family and friend and I am going to order the same one with a different color for sure in soon.

A quality merino wool long sleeve
October 04, 2012

SLWs have become my favourite merino wool shirts for (almost) everyday use. I wear the t-shirt version more often but this long sleeve is better when the weather gets chilly. Way more confortable than ordinary cotton shirts and you can use these for a couple of days before the odor gets noticeable. I have washed the SLWs several times (mashine wash, cold water, inside a mesh bag) but they still feel like new. Holes might appear on merino wool shirts but mine have none so far after a couple of months of use. I also have a RHO LTW long sleeve but it is meant for notably lower temperatures and the fabric pilling might be an issue. I'm 6 feet / 190 lbs and wear XL on SLW shirts. The L would have had better length but would have been too snug for me otherwise.

Plain, Normal, Reliable
December 19, 2010

I compared this base layer with Icebreakers line. Icebreaker is softer, but I don't like how their GT line fits. It is tight around the forarms and the torso, then very loose around the neck. Strange, I think. The Arc'teryx fit is very nice. I like the tapered sleeves, which are usually longer than arm-length. And I like the long torso, which gives it a modest appearance because it stays in your pants. The 6% spandex is funny, how it stretches like a rubber band, and then back again. You'll notice that when you put the shirt on, how it stretches a lot. I also think that the spandex adds durability to the garment. Overall, I'd say the fit is very normal and true. The Icebreaker fit, as I mentioned above is unusual, how it grips on the forarms and is loose on the neck.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, modest appearance, secure fit/feeling, Cons: Cost
