Maybe it’s their British Columbia Roots, but the Arcteryx Gamma SK Pants for men are everything you could ask for in a backcountry ski touring pant. They’re breathable, burly and weather resistant in one well-tailored package. We’re not talking sweaty Vikings here, these soft shell pants let you work hard and shed the BTU’s as you climb. All the same, they deliver all the protection you need as the coldsmoke begins to billow around your waist on descent. The built-in belt and removable suspenders keep them in place, while the low profile cargo and zippered hand pockets provide easy-access storage. Do yourself a favor, and discover the fit and function of the Gamma SK.

great ski pants
September 08, 2012

Really like these pants. I prefer these softshell pants than hardshell ones. Size Medium fits me perfectly. I am about 5'8" and 160lb. Pairing with icebreaker 260 pants, I can pretty much ski most places without ever feeling cold. I even wear these in the city during the winter and they serve me pretty well. Highly recommended.

Good warmer weather ski pants
November 12, 2012

I have not actually used these pants but they are very comfortable and seem perfect for skiing on days where it's not that cold. They would probably work for all but the coldest, stormy days for places like Mammoth. They don't have vent zips but that is probably OK since they are soft shells. I'm about 6' 1'' / 175 lbs and the length is good but the waist is a bit large. A bit pricey but like other Arcteryx things I have, I'm sure they will last and the company stands behind them.

comfortable pants
September 28, 2010

Fabric is good and seems very durable. It is comfortable and breathable. It is not very thick.Over all these are good pants.

Quality and breathable
January 17, 2010

Arc'teryx sure does make quality product and it definately shows with the Gamma Sk Pant. Breathable, lightweight abd good stretch makes these pants mountain climbing worthy. On the downside, I am missing not having reenforced knee or seat padding. The wide cuffs are great for ski boots, but bulky for use with gaiters. The drawcord for the small internal gaiter was difficult to tighten and not worthy used as a gaiter in deep snow.

A solid ski touring pant
December 31, 2009

A solid ski touring pant. The L fits my 34x34 frame well (including skiers legs, unlike the Patagonia Backcountry Guide), and the pants are nicely done but nothing spectacular. The cargo pockets are oddly positioned on the curve of the leg and I would like a back pocket but otherwise nice.

Very happy with these pants
February 02, 2011

I've had these pants for about a month now and have put them through the ringer and they have survived nicely. The fit is a little on the larger side, I am 34 waist 34 inseam 6'2'' 190 lbs and the medium fits perfect. I've been pleased with the waterproofness of them in heavy wet snowfall, but definitely needed to layer wisely when the temps are cold! The suspenders keep them from falling down while hiking with a pack and the pockets have plenty of room for stashing a hat and food for easy access. I would definitely recommend to a friend, in fact I already have.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use

Nice Ski Pants
December 21, 2009

I've been looking for a good fitting soft shell ski pants and the Gamma SK fits the bill. I take a 33/34 waist and 30 inseam and the medium size fits great. The removable suspenders are nice for those days you don't need them. The only thing I'm mot crazy about is the mini gaiters. The draw cord doesn't really tighten up well.
