An excellent pant
April 13, 2011
I used it in my last hike/trip and it fits quite well. it is ideal for warm environment though. I liked a lot the design and it looks elegant even when I go hiking where I got exposed to the dust, sand, etc. From time to time, I wear this pant to go to the city to take pictures . Really nice...
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useARCTERYX MEN'S RAMPART PANTS
October 11, 2012
This is my 3rd RAMPART pants from Arcteryx, I already had a pair of shorts, now this is my second "long" or "regular" pants. What's nice about these pants is they stretch just enough to make what would be a tight fit comfortable without any constriction. The fabric Arcteryx uses is awesome, it's light, compressible and seems to repel stains and water. I used my Arcteryx Rampart shorts last year on a 500 mile trek through Spain (The Way of St. James), I got lots of positive comments such as, "these pants look" almost too dressed-up to be used on a trail". That's the beauty of these pants, they are trail-worthy (due to their super-fast-drying qualities) and they look fine, not "frumpy" like so many other hiking pants. You can wear these pants on and off the trail, they'll perform equally well. Highly recommended, well worth the price of admission.

Great for hiking in summer (when it is not raining). Light, comfortable, and they dry quickly. Even better they have the 30'' inseam. Hope there will be more color options.

Casual comfort Professional style
June 03, 2013
This is makes number five for my Rampart pants and shorts purchases. I work outdoors buying land for "Right of Ways" and these pants and shorts are the best I've got for durability, comfort and yet professionally styled. I go from the field to the office and these feel great all the time and look great too. Great comfort on hot and humid days and drys quickly if you get wet. Just the right stretch without getting baggy.
Pros: Great designNice pants
January 31, 2012
Overall good quality as i got to expect from Arc'teryx. The fabric is stretchy and comfortable. The only thing I like less are the pockets which have no zipper. They just close with a flap. Not very secure.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: pockets design - no zippersvery good
May 04, 2011
i've had my ramparts for about 1.5 years now. i am super happy with them. they come in a 35" inseam, which is so rare in a stock pair of pants (lucky jeans, by the way, do too!). they have a great trim fit. i remember at first being slightly concerned that they looked too hiker geeky. and i guess they do, with the fit and the sleekness of the overall look. none of the pockets stand out to give the leg much visual texture. the material doesn't look like a typical street cred kinda pant. but still, they look pretty good!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valuePerfect

These are the best pair of pants I have ever purchased. Bought multiples and doubles of the more desirable colors. The minor draw back is the "swish" sound they make when walking. Minor inconvenience for the performance engineered into these. Highly recommend these and their similar shorts. 5'7 155 lbs.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: swish noiseDid you recently buy the Arc'teryx Rampart Pants? Write a review.
so far so good
October 24, 2010
I was impressed with the quality of the pants. I had been wearing north face convertible pants and mountain hardwear piero pants , but the arc'teryx pants are markedly better and higher quality. it is light, dry easily and exceptionally comfortable. The only problem is that they're expensive. but I think you get what you pay for.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat Summer Pants
March 23, 2012
Good for bike commuting and hiking Love that there is not button or snaps for the pockets, great when your moving. only draw back is they make noise as you walk

August 18, 2010
Excellent for traveling and just walking around
GREAT FANTASTIC BUY
January 09, 2011
I had a pair of these trekking from Dublin to Cairo last year and just got another pair for my upcoming three months trek in Patagonia. There pack easily and are light weight. The fit (I'm a 32) is spot on. Buy them and you won't be disappointed - even with the high cost.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: Costvery good!!

Very comfortable and stylish
January 04, 2010
I bought these for a Grand Canyon trip later this year so I have worn them only a couple of times but they are very comfortable and look great. Would give these 5 stars if a couple of the six pockets had zipper closures.
More of a climber's pant
April 13, 2010
Nothing wrong with the quality of these pants or sizing. But the pocket placement for both the front and the rear are set quite low so the pants could accommodate a climbing belt and all the gear hanging off it. So in my opinion not a hiker or a backpacker designed pant.

Great pants, colors wildly inaccurate.
March 05, 2012
I love these pants. They are lightweight, fit well and look great. However, the color photos provided by Arc'Teryx are wildly inaccurate. I'm a photographer and have a color-corrcted monitor. Last years "Coffee Bean" looked brown in the photos, but was dark green. This years "Java" looks brown, but is dark green (almost the same color as "Coffee Bean", just slightly lighter). "Sequoia" is a very dark brown, almost gray/black, not the vivid brown shown in the photos.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Costversatile Summer pants
September 01, 2012
This is my second pair of Ramparts and they have become my favorite pants for Summer. I use them mountain biking, hiking and for just about anything. They come out of the wash ready to wear and are very lightweight and durable. The medium fits perfectly and I'm 6' 155 lbs. Also, I like having 6 pockets.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceSo Very Impressed
April 19, 2012
I cannot say anything bad about these pants. I already have two pairs. I wear them to work. I wear them to climb at the gym. I wear them hiking. These pants can handle it all.
Funny drape and fit for my body type
December 16, 2009
Well made, great color. I wanted to love them but they just fit funny. Less leg taper might have helped. Material crinkles a lot--at least the pair i got were crink-fugly.
Great comfort and strength
May 11, 2010
I wish these were a little more loose fitting in the crotch area, but otherwise these pants are very comfortable. The "cargo" pockets are also plenty roomy but feel like they would hold a wallet or keys securely.

This is the second pair of Ramparts for me and also have two pair of Rampart shorts. The fit is a semi athletic cut - not to baggy as a lot of hiking/travel pants are. Still enough room to wear a base layer if needed for chilly fall days. These pants look good enough for casual office wear, great for travel, comfortable for long flights, pack very small, literally hand wash in hotel and dry by morning. Also - six pockets is awesome. Highly recommend.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performancecomfy pant

I am so satisfied with this pant, it have several advantages: light weight, quick dry, comfortable, very suitable in the summer.
Awesome pants from Arc'teryx, as usual
April 06, 2011
I bought these pants for my deployment in Afghanistan. I needed pants that had utility purposes with plenty of pockets. I've been a fan of Arc'teryx and haven't been disappointed with their products so I ordered these pants. I've worn these pants for rainy and muddy weather and it worked out great. It kept my legs dry and breathed very well. It had plenty of pockets to store my documents, money, etc. The fit is also great, not too baggy but not too tight. I ordered a size 34 with inseam of 30...fit perfectly.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great valueDecember 05, 2011
I got these pants just before a 2 week overseas trip and used them extensively during that time. They are very lightweight, quick to dry, resist small stains, have a flattering athletic cut and sleek styling despite having lots of pockets. The fabric does make a bit of noise as you walk compared to regular cotton type materials but I did not find it objectionable. Looking forward to using them even more now that I'm back home... Overall: as usual with Arcteryx stuff, it's a bit pricey but seems very well made, performs well and will be worth it in the long run.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: Costfavorite pants

My husband has worn exofficio pants for years - but he likes the Arc'teryx much better. They have a nicer fit - not baggy - and are very comfortable. He photographs wildlife as a hobby, so he's in habitats from swamps to mountains. These pants are great.
A nice pants
April 23, 2010
I personally think it is a basic climbing pant for Summer activities. The fabric is extremely comfortable. Multiple pocket design is very practical. It is good when ever there is very light rain. But no zipper pocket. You have to be careful when you put in your wallet or phone.

Perfect travel-trek pants
April 07, 2012
I spent 5 weeks in southeast Asia and wore them away every day. They are light weight, and comfortable. The fact that I can zip the lower pant leg o. And off made them extremely versatile for entering the sacred Wats that required full coverage. Plenty of pockets added to the versatility. Great perchase.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great valueAwesome Pants
October 17, 2011
as with all Arcteryx items, the pants are high priced. But as always, the quality is excellent. They are great in wet weather and are light weight for hot days. I will definitely get another pair in a different color....I better start saving.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, great during storms, Cons: CostLight, comfortable, quick dry and versatile etc.

This is the best of my favorate pants that was Arc'teryx's made. I have 4 different colour(light carbide, coffeebean, totem and deep dusk) The advantages of this pants are light, comfotable, quick dry, stylish and versatile etc. I would highly recommend this pants to you. Buy! No remorse at all! Even though it is made in China, Feel! Arc'teryx's high product quality.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueAnother quality piece from Arcteryx!
January 30, 2013
I bought the Arcteryx Rampart Pants for hiking pants for my Kilimanjaro Trek. The Rampant pants are lightweight hiking pants. The Rampart pant's breathable, durable and quick-drying fabric is perfect for aerobic pushes and makes these great travel pants, too. I bought 2 pair for my trip and they are awesome pants.. Perfect fit. Arcteryx thank you for another quality piece!

High Quality Arcteryx
August 09, 2011
This brand is what all heli ski guides choose. Go up one larger. I wear a 32, but sometimes a 32 can be a bit over sized. These are more like a 31. Almost on the verge of being too short as well. I'm 5ft 11"
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: should run truer to size for the moneygreat pant

need strong but light pants for very hot activity, i.e. whitewater rafting the grand canyon or weed whacking on a 100 degree day . can compare to many other brands, such as railriders, rei, north face and these are better

My everyday pants
November 07, 2012
I wear these every day and everywhere; no kidding. The Rampart is billed as a style for climbers, but in reality they all-around great: very light, slightly water resistant, slightly wind resistant, breathable, tough, and flexible. They also look like a sleek pair of cargo pants until someone looks closely, at which point they start asking questions and you tell them about the pants' exceptional technical characteristics. If I had one complaint, I would say that the pants make a *swish* *swish* sound as you walk around. I quickly got used to it, though. My purchasing experience with the Rampart was an initial two pairs, followed by another two, and then another two to replace most of my wardrobe. You may have a similar experience, or you may not. The only way to tell is to try a pair for yourself. The consequences could be habit changing!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: CostExcellent product, color a bit off though
January 22, 2011
These are the most durable, lightweight pants I own so far. A little pricey, but after wearing them around I feel they are a good value given how much use I get out of them. Dry super quick hanging after the wash, no need for the dryer, great for travel and hiking. Fit is as described. One note though, the picture and color name "coffee bean" seem to be a little off, after receiving the pants they seem more olive in color, which I understood might be the case from reading other reviews. Nevertheless, I am still very happy with my purchase. Altrec was great with customer service, wait time to get someone on the phone was minimal.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: CostNot high water pants
November 18, 2011
So finally I got a pair of pants that are long enough. These fit perfectly at 6'2" and 175#. They are tough and comfy at the same time. A little noisy to move in so bad for stealth mode. Cost a lot but like everything from arcteryx they will not wear out.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Cons: CostAlready own the Arc'teryx Rampart Pants? Tell us your thoughts.
Best pants in the world!
February 12, 2012
I have found these pants to be superior above any other. I have 5 pairs already.. but popular sizes tend to fly off the shelves so you have to be quick about it. Don't know why arc'teryx doesn't keep a better inventory in stock.
worth the money
March 16, 2011
Fit, function and fashion are all in place with these pants. The fit is true to REAL waist/length sizes. (Not the size they put on American clothes so you think you are a smaller size and you're not!) I have 2 pair that will get a full hiking/climbing/trekking work out this year. So my durability rating was based on other reviews.
Pros: Great designGreat pant!
January 20, 2011
These are my favorite go to pants. Very versatile, great for the office or any travel or trip. Could be a little longer, but well worth it. A great investment- well made and tailored with an athletic yet casual cut.. These pants are extremely comfortable, mobile and pliable.
