Whether you're shredding groomers or carving turns in the backcountry, the Arc'teryx Sabre Jacket will be there to shed every flake of powder that you slash, keeping you warm and dry so you can stay out longer. Built from N80p-X GORE-TEX® soft shell with DWR to bead and wick moisture, this jacket offers the waterproof, windproof, snow shedding and breathable answer to everything you'll encounter on your big mountain endeavors. Soft, brushed lining adds light insulation, and a helmet compatible Storm Hood™ with a laminated brim and glove-friendly adjusters add extra protection against the elements. Fully sealed seams with Tiny GORE® seam tape seals out moisture, and the powder skirt with gripper elastic and snap closure keeps the powder you're shredding from flying up into your skivvies. Multiple pockets with WaterTight™ zippers provide highly water resistant (not waterproof) storage for your gear. Articulated patterning and no-lift gusseted arms allow freedom of movement without shifting the fit of your jacket. The relaxed fit and generous cut provides ample room for layering, while multiple adjustment options let you find the perfect fit.

Great (soft)shell jacket
January 24, 2013
I bought the Sabre as a shell jacket and it has performed great so far. It is completely water and windproof. The slide-n-loc works great with the sabre pants. I'm 6'1" 200lbs and got the large. It fits loose enough for lots of layering in the cold, but still able to wear it by itself in warmer weather (if I was only planning on wearing this for warm weather, I would have tried the medium). Definitely not a cold weather jacket by itself. It has minimal insulation as described. However it is an incredible, and versatile shell. Highly recommend.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use
