I purchased this jacket for husband and he loves it! He is 6'1 185 lbs and the large was a perfect fit. It has a slimmer fit so it doesn't get in way on the slopes. 1 of his favorite features is the powder skirt. It is a bit more expensive than his previous ski jackets but after researching the quality of the brand, I feel it will last for many years! I would highly recommend this jacket!

Awesome Jacket
Picked up this jacket just before a ski trip to UT and Arc'teryx didn't disappoint.
Pros:
Jacket kept me warm and dry during a pounding snowstorm with high winds at the top of the Tram at Snowbird. The next day it kept me totally comfortable for a sunny and warm blue-bird powder day. Awesome temperature regulation.
Hood fit easily over my helmet with full freedom of movement and little adjustment necessary.
Gore-tex outer shell has a great feel - soft to the touch, but bomber toughness. The jacket shrugged off many branch swipes with no sign of even a scratch.
Arc'teryx' attention to detail is evident throughout the jacket - zipper pulls work smoothly - the pit zips easily work one-handed, all the seams are tight and consistent.
Fit: I'm 5' 9" about 170 lbs and the large fit me perfectly. Plenty of room for multiple layers, but not sloppy with just a single layer on either. Design is A+ - no gapping, no pulling, full freedom of movement with no restrictions.
Cons:
NONE
Overall: I would highly recommend this jacket, it is well worth the investment.

Great Ski Shell
I've skied with a North Face Summit Series Mountain Jacket shell for 10+ years and it's always treated me well but I was looking to jump into some more modern gear. This shell fit the bill perfectly - athletic cut, water and wind proof but a bit softer to the touch than the Pro-Shell, excellent construction and durability and just overall a great looking coat. I ski about 80-90% inbounds so I didn't feel like I had to have the Pro-Shell but honestly, this seems like it will be awfully close. I'm about 6', 180 and went with a medium. I'm probably right between a large and a medium but decided to go with a a more athletic fit. Worked great over a base layer and a low profile mid. Overall, a great ski shell. It's an investment but I view it as a long term one.

A soft shell that is soft
I am a product tester for W.L Gore and this is one of my current jackets. It is the Gore Tex Soft Shell which incorporates a softer face fabric and light insulation on the inside. If you have never worn a Gore Soft Shell, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. They are super comfortable and quieter than a hard shell. The face fabric has a much softer feel but is very similar to a hard shell in water repellency and the lack of stretch. The light insulation on the inside makes for good next to skin comfort and a touch more warmth.
The Arc'Teryx Stingray is a good example of how it is done right. First off, Arc'Teryx makes some of the finest, if not THE FINEST, outdoor gear in the world. It is always simple, clean, and superbly crafted. The Stingray is no exception. It has pockets where you need them, vents that work, and good closures. The hood is exactly what you expect from Arc'Teryx. It fits a helmet, and sizes down to a bare head well. This jacket is a ski resort piece and is sized a little roomier for layers and style. If you are used to the alpine fit of the Alpha and Beta, this will be a bit big. I wear a small and I like the fit for resort telemark. It will accept a good goose down sweater but it is not floppy.
If you want one of the best waterproof breathable soft shells in the world, look no further. The Arc'Teryx Stingray is your answer! Here is a shot of three Stingrays on the way up.

Worth the Money
This jacket does cost a little more, but is a great value. There is a lot less bulk with this type of jacket. My only regret is I wish I would have bought one years ago! !

arc teryx rocks
i purchased a xxl stingray jacket from Altrec and thought that with my size the xxl would be right. however i was mistaken as it is rather large. after talking to the on-line sales they guided me with excellent info and were very helpful and willing to solve the problem. plan to re-order the xl as this product is an unbelievable piece of outdoor wear. as a Marmot owner, i am now considering more Arc Teryx products. i recommend Altrec as your source of gear clothng
