Description

If you want lightweight, packable, yet eminently functional emergency storm protection, make sure you're carrying the Men's Arc'teryx Theta SL Jacket. Made with two variations of GORE-TEX® fabric, GORE-TEX® Paclite® 2L in the body, and GORE-TEX® Pro Shell 3L in the shoulders and arms, this streamlined jacket offers maximum coverage and exceptional performance in a minimal shell. The micro-seam allowance pieces are fully seam sealed with 13 mm GORE® seam tape, and even the pit zips are shortened to reduce weight and bulk. The trim fitting Stow Hood™ has glove friendly adjusters, and the zipper pulls are corded to make them easy to grab. Articulated sleeves, a drop back hem and an athletic fit all help the garment function at the highest levels while providing comfort and performance. Go light and fast, with the Theta SL Jacket for men from Arc'teryx.

Great Rain Jacket
December 26, 2010

This is your basic rain jacket. I didn't like it because I prefer Gore Tex Pro Shell to Paclite because I heard from Arc'teryx that Pro Shell is more durable and breathable. Other than that detail, the jacket is worth the money! It is also pretty light.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, light weight

Overall Great Jacket
April 12, 2012

I bought this as my main go to shell for all four seasons. I was looking for a jacket that would be versatile, lightweight and durable. The jacket did an excellent job of blocking, wind, snow/ sleet and was very comfortable. The only complaint I have with it is that it doesnt vent that well. At lunch and at the end of the day there was a significant amount of condensation on the inside of the jacket, which also caused my Atom Lt to feel a big soggy. I will say that the condensation is primarily only where the PacLite fabric is on the body. The areas with ProShell were dry. This also has me concerned about wearing it on spring or summer days since we get quite a bit of rain. So ultimately thinking of returning it and purchasing a different Arcteryx with full Pro Shell.

Great shell

Great Shell, very Happy!
February 10, 2011

Very pleased with this jacket's ability to breathe, which was important to me. It also packs very small and is light which means you don't have to think twice about throwing it in a rucksack. I am 6ft 3" and glad of the little extra length this jacket possesses over it's competitors.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: Cost

Arc'teryx Theta SL
March 30, 2010

The Arc'teryx Theta SL Its made by Arc'teryx enough said, but I will say more, the Theta SL is a perfect mixture of Paclite and XCR Gore-Tex making a supper light supper packable but plenty durable storm shell. The Theta SL has a technical fit with great arm articulation. Sizing runs true and leaves enough room for layers. The hood fits nicely over a helmet and stays on until you want it off then it rolls and zips into the collar when not needed, a great feature. It has shortened pit zips to save weight. Two large front pockets set up high as not to interfere with a climbing harness. This is the longest cut jacket Arc'teryx makes so it fits nicely under a climbing harness. Ive used this shell for rock and alpine climbing skiing hiking and packs small enough that I have taken it cycling on poor weather days. One of the best purchases I have made.
