Over-engineered, Underwhelming.

Whoa! Not much I like about this pack. It is unnecessarily complex. Straps for board/ski/snowshoe carry system not only intersect with every other strap on the pack, but are in some cases routed with connectors. Tough to adjust, impossible if cold and/or dark. Fold over top opening requires two hands, two straps and unrolling before opening. It takes way too long if all you are looking to do is stash a jacket or hat. I am 5'9" with an athletic build and broad shoulders and the short is too short. Looking on the mfg. site I should be right in the middle of short and just below the low end of regular. I measured my back as they suggested... Might have been the sizing but the pack pulled away from my upper back when loaded. Pulling and tightening the trap, shoulder and chest straps enough to secure properly eliminated any freedom of movement. The shoulder straps pull your shoulders back (picture lady on front of boat) when tightened and further restricts movement, especially when trying to scramble or adjust bindings. The pack also seems unnecessarily burly. More like a Samsonite than a backcountry tool. Too much. too much complexity and weight.

Pros: Build quality
Cons: Low performance, Bad design
