Perfect insulating layer
October 01, 2011

This jacket is unbelievably light weight for the warmth that it provides. It is perfect as an insulating jacket over layers for cooler fall days and is thin enough to fit under a shell for extra warmth in winter. The stretch side panels help to hug the jacket to your body. The shoulder design allows full range of motion. Love the fabric of the cuffs. It hugs my wrists to keep out the cold. No complaints about this jacket! Sizing is the same as other Arcteryx products. I am 5'9" and wear a size 12. I take a large in this and the length is great. Highly recommend!

I like it!
April 12, 2012

I've bought the Arteryx women's LT Jacket to layer under a gore tex shell. It's been great for spring skiing, just warm enough on a warm day and a great layering piece on a slightly cooler day. In the dead of winter, I'll layer it with a down sweater and I should be good to go. Not bulky like a heavy fleece and I like the mesh panel down the side for breathability.

I have worn this jacket backpacking, and to work. It still looks brand new. If you want to wear it over a layer, size up. Otherwise it is a true fit. The details to this jacket just do not stop. I am ordering the same jacket wih the hood.

beautiful jacket
March 05, 2011

I bought this jacket as a light weight jacket for spring and fall. It is figure flattering because the elastic side panels hug your body. It is of superior quality. It runs small. I wear a medium in most brands but needed a large in this jacket. You will not go wrong with this jacket. I got it on sale that that definitely helped!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance

A Wonderful Surprise
March 05, 2010

I wanted a matching under layer for my Dark Ember Stingray Shell. I ordered the Atom Lt Jacket, hoping the color was right and it wouldn't be too bulky. Wow, when it arrived it matched, it fit and so light and very warm. I love the way it fits at the wrist and waist. And it can be worn as a stylish outer layer. I am going to Italy for the month of September and this will be the perfect jacket for packing and function. Next winter I will be stylin' on the slopes in Northern New Mexico with both these jackets worn daily.

The best jacket I've ever had
November 24, 2010

It's light, comfort, warm and breathable. Having it more than 1 year, wash many times and still look NEW. I'm in love with this jacket, if I want to buy anything for winter, this is the brand I will go.

warmth and style
February 26, 2010

I bought this jacket for its warmth in layering under a shell. But its tailored fit and appearance when worn alone are a bonus. Doubles as a functional jacket for the trail and a stylish piece around town.

Amazingly warm & light.
February 24, 2010

This jacket is amazingly warm for its size and weight. It's so light you almost don't feel it. Can be worn as a jacket on a mild winter's day here in the Northeast, and is also great as a base layer for wearing under a shell for skiing. My wife loved this jacket the first time she tried it out. It's also great for traveling as it can pack down into a very small space in one's hand luggage.

Warm and Packable
February 04, 2011

The atom Lt is an amazing jacket. It is 98% windproof and very warm for its weight. I can wear it with anything. Under a shell it slides perfectly, no snagging as fleece can do. It can literally pack down to the size of my fist. This is something you definitely need to bring on any trip.

Just what I was looking for
August 13, 2012

I was looking for a synthetic jacket for a while and couldn't decide on which way to go. I was looking at the Patagonia Nano Puff but then the Arc'teryx Atom started showing up in my search. I am so pleased with this jacket! I just used it this past weekend on my backpacking trip to South Sister and it was perfect! It fits great and is so comfortable, it was just what I was looking for!! I'm 5'6" and I got the medium. The stretch knit cuffs are a great touch and I could see myself using this for outdoor recreation or casual wear.

Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use

Great Jacket

This is a great jacket. The sizing is small, so order a size up if you will be wearing anything slightly bulky underneath. The technical specs and color are awesome!

A great year round layer.
July 25, 2012

I purchased this jacket for my sister a few months back. As a gift for a trip that we were training for. It was an easy purchase, because I got it for a great price here at Altrec too. There were many reasons why I purchase this jacket for her. First of all, is Arc'Teryx. Their stuff is in many aspects the best it gets. Not only because its functionality is superb, but because it also looks good when you are wearying it. I know hiking, backpacking and that type of activities, aren't a beauty competition; but it sure doesn't help to look good while your doing it. And unlike all other "puffy" jackets out there, the Atom looks like a nice, regular stylized jacket. Not that round, bubble-wrap shape all other puffies tend to have. The other reason I got it for my sister, was that she can use it as a outer layer for cold days, where we will be on the move constantly, and she needed something warm enough to keep her comfortable, but not too warm that she would over heat. The side hard-fleece panels on the jacket help a lot with the ventilation in those kinds of situations. Not as breatheable as perhaps, regular fleece, but still great to have. and when she needs to put it underneath another layer (say a hardshell or a even a fleece jacket) it layers underneath smoothly. The one drawback I would give it, is that I wish the wrist cuff came out a little longer, down to the palms of your hands. With thumb holes perhaps. The cuffs do a great job of keeping all that warm air in; but it would be nice to have your hands a little more protected from the weather, when you can't simply put them in the front pocket. Those pockets do have nice warm fleece, that does a great job of helping your hands, but you might not always be able to use them while on the move. Even better about this jacket, is that it packs down to a pretty small size (when stuffed in to it's own sleeve) which makes it easy to carry on Spring-summer packs, where you might not have as much space to spare as in a winter pack. Well, I could go on for a while longer talking about how awesome this jacket is. But I don't want to bore you. Just one more thing. This jacket is so awesome, that I got my self one (men's version), and so did my friend (he got the hoodie) and so did my wife (she also got the jacket). Just get it. You won't regret it.

Go-To Jacket for Cooler Days
October 29, 2011

My husband bought the Men's Atom jacket this spring. He loves it so much that I thought I should give the women's version a try. I'm glad I did! With the cooler temps arriving in the NW, it's become my go-to jacket. Even in light rain, I stay warm and dry. I'm 5'5" and 130 lbs. The small fits perfectly. If I could, I'd buy it in multiple colors.

Mid-layer
November 21, 2011

I got this jacket (color: magenta) for my wife and paired it with the similar colored Women's Arc'teryx Stingray jacket. She loved it! Wore it in Vail, CO with a base layer and she didn't feel the wind or the chill. I definitely recommend all Arc'teryx gear as it may be more expensive, but it is worth the money. Who likes to be a cheap-skate on gear anyways?

Not great
May 17, 2013

I own the Atom LT hoody and love it, so decided to try the jacket too. The fit (on me, at least) was very different than the hoody. It was tight across the backs of my shoulders, so much so that I couldn't lift my arms easily. It was uncomfortable because I couldn't move freely. I sent it back. I would recommend this jacket if it fits you correctly because it's a great product, but beware that if you own the hoody the fit may be quite different.

Light and warm
April 02, 2012

I wear this jacket around town and pack it for any trips since it's packs down small. The xs was perfect for me (5'2", 105lbs, 32B) and left room for a base layer or light sweater. Not windproof so not for all weather conditions but it's pretty water resistant and it's a great insulating layer under my raincoat for wet/colder conditions.

Best investment ...ever.
February 08, 2013

I have to admit I have a soft spot for dead bird gear. I also realize that you are usually over paying for the name brand. This is not the case with the Atom LT. If I had to recommend a single piece of Arc'terxy gear I would recommend this jacket. It can't be beat in weight, fit, warmth or versatility with anything on the market. It has a great water resistant finish which will keep you dry in a light rain. The synthetic filling will warm you even when wet. The fact that the core and the sleeves have different weight CoreLoft (which is top of the line synthetic insulation) is a great plus. You are not wearing or packing any extra weight. The side breathing panels keep you from overheating in high impact activity, while giving the garment a more feminine appearance. The stretch cuffs are amazing, they are 0 bulky when layering, they keep out all the air, and they do not slip or move during activity. The Atom is designed as a mid layer, but for milder days 30°-35° it works perfectly as a top layer if you have a mid weight under it. Because of its material also goes on great under (and over) other layers... hardshells, softshells, fleeces or sweaters. It just slides on and you don't have to worry about uncomfortable bunching, loosing your sleeve, feeling constricted or twisted. It is true to size I'm 5-4' and the small fits perfectly. I have the lavender color and i love it. This jacket goes perfectly with jeans, khakis or climbing gear. A versatile, all around great Jacket. I honestly can't say enough good things about it.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, cut, size, material, warmth level, rugged use durability
