REALLY Good shell
December 23, 2011
Great jacket! I've worn it a couple of times during heavy rainfall, and it's most certainly waterproof. Not very warm as it goes, but size is true to fit with room to layer. This is a great rain jacket for hiking or around town. It can be folded into a small space so it is great for travel. Breathes well.
Great If Ultralight is Priority

This is an excellent rain jacket using Gore-Tex PacLite material. It is perfect for backpacking as a stash-in-your-pack-in-case-of-downpour jacket. It folds up small and weighs very little. The only drawback for some is no pit zips, but this is the tradeoff to be extra light weight. This makes it perfect for lightweight backpacking, but I wouldn't use it as my running jacket as I like the pit zips when I run. I find Arc'teryx generally tends to have a more flattering fit than average and is slightly longer in the torso, this jacket was no exception. Overall this is a beautiful jacket and it holds up well in rain/snow.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: no pit zipsMarch 13, 2011
Without any doubt, It's a awesome rain jacket, It could protect me from heavy rain while it's so light. I could put it into my backpack easily when I want to go trip. Same with other Arc'teryx ones, it has a high quality,Moreover, it looks so beautiful and stylish. I am satisfied with it.

Glad to have a totally waterproof jacket. Excellent quality, love the raison color. It does run small, as I bought the large, which is a bit big on me and I usually wear small being, 62" and 115lb. The sleeves are long on me, but have room for stretching. I also have room for layering as well. Great buy, looking forward to using it.
Excellent Rain Shell

I purchased a medium Beta SL in raisin and love the color and fit. I am 5'9" tall and about 155 lbs. I really like the longer cut in the back.

I got the Arcteryx Beta SL in "coffee bean". It's a nice dark brown color with cream colored zippers and logo. The jacket fits nicely, with room for a fleece layer underneath, and it is very well made. I bought this jacket to use more as my around town shell, because it looks a bit more civilized than many other shells. The pockets are not as high, the length not quite as long, and it doesn't has pit zips like the Alpha SL. The hood is also slimmer, and not an oversized helmet compatible hood. For snowsports, backpacking, etc. I'll be using a different shell, but the Beta SL is just the ticket for my intended use.
Great Jacket

I bought this jacket mainly as a shell for skiing. It works awesome! It breaks the wind and is really light. It makes it very easy to move around in. I look forward to taking it on hikes and using it in rainy weather.
Great Jacket

Very light weight, stylish, and great fit. I bought one for my self and it worked so good, I bought one for my girlfriend. It packs very small and is great protection when Mother Nature changes her mind and throws rain your way. You can't help but smile cause it keeps you dry so you can enjoy the mountains and all the new waterfalls that come out on rainy days.
really is

This jacket weighs almost nothing, rolls up into a teeny-tiny ball, and looks great on. The fit is way roomier and a bit boxier than my Arc'teryx softshell jacket. This is presumably so you can fit down vests & such underneath, but if you are between sizes you may still be able to size down. The main colour of the "Rouge" is a nice bright red, not pink -- yay! The hood is well cut and large enough to easily fit over a helmet. The main zipper seems a little bit sticky but it might get smoother with time. Note: unlike most Arc'teryx stuff, this jacket is made in China (not Vancouver).
Packable, great length for casual wear

Love the raisin color, the style is flattering if you can find your size, I would not suggest to go up in size. It packs down to nothing.
It rocks!

Beautiful jacket

Beautiful, extremely well-made jacket. My first Arc'teryx and I am very impressed. For my purposes (bicycle commuting in the Northeast) I would probably do better in a jacket with pit zips as I do get some condensation. Also the hood does not fit well over a bicycle helmet although it's a great fit for my head. The jacket is completely waterproof and the color is great. Highly recommend.

Perfect jacket
January 09, 2010
Arc'teryx has become my favorite brand for jackets. The beta SL is my third in two years. I wanted a very lightweight waterproof jacket for travel and for walking the dog in wet but not too cold weather. The beta SL is perfect for that. Will be taking it to track gorillas in Uganda next month.
goooooooood~
