If you are in the market for a do-it-all soft shell jacket, the Arcteryx Women's Gamma MX Hoody offers all-mountain utility and a women's specific cut for a flattering fit. Arcteryx uses a lightweight, wind resistant and highly breathable soft shell fabric that sheds precipitation and promotes freedom of movement. really a good softshell
July 28, 2012

I am 169cm height and 58kg weight, and suitable for Medium size.i have several softshells, mammut, patagonia, and mountain hardwear. But gamma mx is best softshell i have ever used. It is because for several reasons. First, it is suitable for three seasons and worth for the price, i can wear it from fall to next spring. Second, it is suitable for different weather, rainy, sunny, wind day, i can wear it to trekking, travelling, and all the time i wish. Third, it is so soft i like the feeling touching it. It is a outwear once you have you will never consider other softwear.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

This is a must have jacket that will take you through fall, winter and spring. It fits perfect with all the stretch you need for outdoor activity. Add a sweater under the jacket for added warmth. Fitted sleeves and jacket zipped up give great protection from the elements.

Great Jacket - But Not For Winter...
December 14, 2010

This jacket seems like it would be great for cold and windy or rainy hikes, but unfortunately it definitely lacks the needed insulation for a cold day on the slopes. However, the jacket looks great and fits true to size so as long as you don't intend for it to keep you warm through the winter I would recommend this jacket as a great fall-spring addition.

My absolute favorite
December 07, 2010

I have not only a lot of fleeces and soft shells from all brands, but also a lot of Arc'teryx gear, and this is without a doubt my favorite piece. I find some Arc'teryx pieces too short for my torso, but this is nice and long. It's not meant to be totally wind or waterproof, but I've gotten caught in light rains and some pretty brutal winds while climbing or hiking and it's held up alone. It's also great to layer under a light shell in warmer weather or a winter jacket. It is the most versatile jacket I own, it functions amazingly well, and it looks great on.

Great Jacket
January 25, 2010

Just received this jacket, but I've already taken it out several times. - downhill skiing and nordic. It's a great layer as well as outer softshell. Sizing seems a bit larger than other arc'teryx items. I tried both a small and a medium, but went with the medium to make sure I had plenty of room in the shoulders to fit other layers.

Even better than expected

Incredibly lightweight and comfortable, yet surprisingly warm...great for those really chilly spring days with pop up showers! Very flattering as well, and true to size.

Best jacket ever
March 26, 2011

I bought this jacket for climbing. It's thin but very warm and nice looking. I can wear during four seasons except hot summer. The color is very pretty and it's easy to match with various pants. I love this jacket...!!!
