high quality, excellent jacket
I love this jacket. It is incredibly lightweight, yet provides wind protection and warmth when needed. It is an excellent underlayer, but holds its own as outerwear as well. What really makes it stand out to me is how breathable this is. I can wear it on a chilly day for an outdoor workout and stay warm enough to be comfortable, yet not overheat while exerting myself. I've never had any other jacket be able to do this successfully. The cut is very flattering too. I can easily see myself wearing it often during at least three seasons of the year. I am 5'3", average build, and the size small fit me perfectly. The Arcteryx brand is expensive, but I definitely think this particular piece of clothing was worth the money for what it does.

Excellent Jacket for an active person!!!!
This is a great jacket that is all that it says it is. It is waterproof to extent but would not consider a waterproof shell. Very warm, works great for cold morning workouts. Jacket fits a little small, may need to get a size up. I am 5"7 and thin and need a medium if I wear layers under it. I would recommend this jacket to anyone who wants to battle the elements, cold, rain, wind during a run.

The Gamma MX is a lightweight insulating layer. It is lightly fleece lined. This is an item I would wear under a hard shell; in addition, to base layer(s) of your choice. I am new to Arc'Teryx products and it is hard to believe something so light could be warm. However, this is the new technology.
I purchased the Lapis Lazuli color - bright royal blue - gorgeous!

best choice
I for my girlfriend ordered the jackets. This jacket is a gift to her is a good thing. Carrying the colors of her mind, more than any other jacket is like that. In addition, she is wearing jacket with me on outdoor activities such as this would be too good.

Wonderful feminine jacket
In reality, the jacket is much more attractive than photographed. It contours the waist nicely, maintaining a feminine yet sporty style. Aesthetics aside, it is a fabulous all-purpose jacket and layering piece. If you need added warmth or wind protection, simply throw on a light Gore-tex jacket over top. One of the garment's greatest features is the fact that it offers some wind and rain protection as well as just enough insulation to allow you to pursue whatever outdoor activity you're doing without getting overly hot or cold. I think the color, fit, and fabric are absolutely stellar, and would recommend this style and brand to anyone. Note, too, that it is sufficiently long enough for tall women.

Sweet Softie
Yeah this is a great jacket. It keeps out wind and water while keeping me reasonably warm. It is not warm in less than 45 degrees without serious underlayers. This jacket is also not the best for the Pac NW because it is usually raining really hard here or super cold if it is dry out. I often am reaching for a rain jacket or down jacket instead. Still a great softie though.

Great Jacket - Highly Recommendable
This jacket, as one would expect from Arcteryx, fits great, looks great, and works well. It's lightweight, comfortable, and warm, as well as attractive. I would definitely recommend it.

Great Coat ... Best soft shell on the market .
This was a coat for my Girlfriend. Got a great deal on it (thanks altrec) and all I can say is that if I didn't have one already I would be jelous. It performs in 90% of all conditions and can be worn in warm weather and cold, dry and wet (put it on under a shell in heavy rain (Alpha SL or Beta SL) are great choices). Honestly if you can only have one SS or if you have 6+ (like us) this is the coat for you. My only consideration would be to get a MX Hoody (that would be a perfect all around jacket if you like bad weather). If you know how to layer this coat can, and for me has, been used at and bellow 0. Mine takes a Maverik AR with base layers well and hers fits the same. One warning, buy this coat and you will be hooked on Arc'teryx forever.

Great. Highly recommended.
Very, very good. I previously owned a Arc'teryx gamma SV (loved it but then lost it somewhere in Cork!)and I have to say I prefer the gamma MX. The SV seemed to be able to endure more beatings - I fell down a hill, got bruises but the jacket survived the ordeal with no marks! But the location of the pockets for the SV was a bit weird (chest height)... Anyhow, loving the MX. Very light, warm and wind/rain resistant. Great Sangria colour. The size (M) seems perfect. I also own the epsilon AR but the size there (M) is definitely small. Too form fitting to have a middle layer.

All I hoped for...and more
This jacket lives up to the arc'teryx name. With excellent quality in design, performance, and fit this jacket is flawless. I recently went on a muddy bike trail that splashed mud and water all over the jacket, however, when the ride was over I simply brushed off my Gamma MX and the mud and water were completely wicked away. I'm looking forward to many more of these moments with the jacket. I also dig the zipper pocket on the arm and the cinch drawcord at the hem. Very pleased with this jacket.

Superb jacket
This is a superb jacket in every way. Very beautifully made, Arc'Teryx pays great attention to the details. The quality is head and shoulder above similar products of other brands. The fit is perfect and it looks really nice, but does restrict movement. It's quite warm in 40F weather with an extra layer under. Put up very well in light rain and snow. Well worth the money.
