This Atlas Women's 923 Elektra 9 Series Snowshoe Kit features the right stuff for getting you out on the trail and across the rolling hardpack. It's a value-oriented recreational package that offers quality articulation, floatation and comfort at a price that melts away similar snowshoe designs. Atlas recently refined their snowshoe lines with a new one-piece Wrapp binding system that's specifically molded to fit your left and your right foot (other snowshoe bindings slip on either foot, often resulting in a compromised fit). The reinforced nylon decking remains flexible even in brittle cold when some plastic designs chip or break apart. While the 9 Series Snowshoe Kit is designed for recreational day hikers, we find that a lot of customers who buy the Atlas Kits do so for vacationing guests and visitors to mountain homes and ski condos. It makes sense when you consider that snowshoeing remains one of the easiest winter outdoor activities to master, but the Elektra 9 Series trounces similarly priced designs because these rugged snowshoes tend to stay together even after extensive use (and abuse). This complete kit includes snowshoes, two-piece snowshoe poles and a convenient snowshoe carrying case. The telescoping aluminum poles adjust from 77 cm. to 130 cm. and feature alpine powder baskets and adjustable handle straps. One thing to keep in mind is that this 923 Elektra 9 Series is designed to accommodate loads between 80 and 160 lbs., so factor this into your sizing and remember to include the weight of a potential day pack and any extra clothing layers.
