Nice looking helmet

I bought a men's medium for my 8 year old son (he has a big head). He picked it out himself and it is a sharp looking helmet. I bought it since my son's head sweats and the other reviews indicated it kept heads cool. Great buy off Altrec.

Best Fit and Most Breathable

This is THE helmet to get if you tend to run hot. The summer version is less than half the price of the winter version of the Macon. I would be taking the lining out of the winter version and using a thin beanie if it were cold out. So this helmet is the perfect choice.

Great Helmet for a great price

Awesome helmet. I use it for skateboarding in the summer and snowboarding in the winter with the knit liner kit. Very light and low profile, fits true to size. Would definitely recommend it.

The Bern Macon hard hat has a good fit for big round heads. Compared to the Smith Variant, the shape is rounder and wider at the temples. This has a much lower profile than Giros. Offers good enough protection for people riding in bounds and in control. If you use the winter liner you need to be careful not to tear out the velcro too fast when removing it. It can rip the lining. I wear a 7 5/8 - 7/12 ball cap and I ended up getting the XXXL.

Overall it's very comfortable, light enough and I don't feel like it slows me down at all (it's aerodynamic). I do sweat in it a little more than I anticipated based on the description on the special foam the helmet features - - but I do expect it to be a great year-round helmet. I feel safe, speedy, and smart in it!
