Ride Snowboards Men's Beta Movement Snowboard Binding (Fall 07):
If you don't feel the need to drop extra cash on the gel ankle pads and UltraLite Highbacks found on Ride's Alpha MVMNT, the Ride Beta MVMNT have the same exceptional freestyle performance with an extra dollop of artistic attitude at a lower price. The Ride Beta MVMNT features the Movement (MVMT) Chassis System, a durable design made from lightweight aluminum for outstanding response that adds mobility in all directions. The chassis sidewall rides a bit higher than most snowboard binding designs, creating better leverage and adding more flex along the baseplate. Ride cored the chassis to the deck for freestyle-oriented versatility. This season Ride added a new Urethane Rollbar Basepad to help neutralize unsettling vibrations at high speeds. They also improved the closure system with patented Revolver Grip-Zone ratchets, a barrel ratchet design that provides four to five clicks per throw, a cranking performance that ranks among the most powerful found on the mountain. The release system is even faster and allows for smooth exits in seconds. The Beta MVMT offers a FlexLite Highback, a lighter design than the PowerFlex and Comfortback Highbacks found on other models. The FlexLite uses an ergonomic shape that provides excellent support where you need it and minimizes material where you don't, so the weight savings is significant. The FlexLite Highback also has a Tri-Pillar design that offers side-to-side flex for enhanced mobility that's essential in hardcore freestyle applications. Unlike previous seasons, the Ride MVMNT bindings are finished with hand-applied spray paint, so no two ever look the same.
