Great hiking poles
July 22, 2010
I was really surprised at how using trekking poles added to my hiking experience (first time user). The Flick Lock works well and is very quick and easy to use, however, they were a little stiff the first few times I had to adjust them. Definitely well made, light and has excellent locking system, would recommend for serious hiking.
Very high quality

I have used several different poles before including Leki and Comperdell. These have the Flick Lock which is undoubtedly superior. You can adjust the tightness and you don't have to wonder if they are tight enough. They're quick and easy to adjust length. I don't care for shock absorbing poles and these are solid and lightweight. The quality is excellent. They are comfortable to hold and comfortable to use. The grips are just the right softness and the straps are very comfortable too. They disassemble easily if necessary to fit in your pack or suitcase. They feel very sturdy in use. And the elliptical shape looks very high-tech! These poles are expensive but I am very happy with them.
excellent in many conditions

I have used these poles in the slick rock country of Southern Utah, for regular hiking in the Wasatch Range, and for snow shoeing with the powder baskets attached. I love them! They are lighter and sturdier than my Black Diamond round, carbon shaft poles, and they have better grip features.

Very solid poles

I like the Flick lock adjusting system which is much better than the twist lock. The twist lock will always get loose after a while for my previous poles (REI brand). The lower part of the grip (not foam grip, but something like sand paper) can be improved.
