Description

With the feel of a leather work glove and the performance of a technical ski glove, the Black Diamond Guide Glove delivers superior warmth and weather protection on the deepest powder days and stormiest ascents. This waterproof modular glove system is the equivalent of an insulated storm shell for your hands. The exterior shell features a soft and supple goat leather palm merged with a woven nylon shell. The removable wool liner adds PrimaLoft® for extra insulation value and a waterproof Gore-Tex insert for full storm protection. Warm Gloves
March 11, 2012

I have suffered through many days with cold hands so finally invested in a good pair of glove. The guide gloves are great. They are toasty warm for the cold days. Full fingers are excellent for the back country - taking skins on and off, getting things out of the pack etc. They look well made, hopefully will last many seasons!

Black Diamond Guide Gloves
January 25, 2011

Temperatures in northern New Hampshire over the Martin Luther King Day weekend were in the low single digits, and these gloves definitely made the experience more comfortable on the ski slopes. At first, I was afraid they might be too warm, but they're ideal for sub-zero temperatures and well-made, without some of the straps, zippers and other bells & whistles on ski gloves that you really don't need. They aren't cheap but I've had less expensive gloves fall apart at the seams. By all accounts, the Guide gloves looks like they'll last.

Excellent Warmth and Fit
January 21, 2011

Purchased these gloves for an alpine Summer climb however they are also excellent in providing warmth for skiing and shoveling the driveway. The pull-out wool liner is attached to the shell via velcro and provides a secure barrier so snow will not get trapped between the liner and the outer shell. They can be a little stiff initially however the outer shell breaks in quickly. Glove has a very nice long wrist protector that can be tightened so snow does not travel into the glove. Spoke to Black Diamond about changing out the wool liner with something lighter if the need arises and they said that any lightweight fleece liner will work perfectly inside the outer shell. A local retailer employee told me the same thing. So get these gloves for super warmth all-around winter wear and pick up a pair of lightweight fleece liners for those days when it is not super cold. Got rid of my Head ski gloves and now only use these - these are the cadillac of winter gloves with a removable liner! A little pricey but well worth the money in the long run.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Cons: Cost

worth every penny
February 19, 2010

In the past I've used 2 glove liners underneath my gloves to try to keep my hands warm. With these Black Diamond gloves, I don't need anything else. Easy on, easy off, I can get my bare hands out to undo zippers and access pockets, adjust gear, etc. The removable, wool liners dry incredibly fast. I'd recommend this glove to anyone that has had chronically cold hands. Oh- I'd have a back up pair of gloves for days when it's not too cold.

Amazing

Soft on the inside, hard on the outside; this glove is amazing in all conditions.

Best ski glove I've ever owned
May 08, 2009

Fantastic glove pretty much the warmest glove you can buy, the wool liner is very thick and does not itch, and i'm usually senstive to wool. The double leather palm is very durable and should last a very long time. Overall very good value probably a glove you'll have for 10 years
