Don't let the funky Mowabb graphic etched into the sole fool you--this light hiker is a serious approach shoe that's only lightweight on your bathroom scale. Nike's air cushioned and highly breathable Air Mowabb is ideal for a variety of trail conditions and applications, but it doesn't compromise with the half-hearted features found in some multipurpose trail shoes. Like most shoes it has breathable mesh, but these insets have a two-way stretch design for better mobility and flex. As the "Air" in the title suggests, you'll find an encapsulated Air-Sole unit in the heel to help round off the rough repetitive edges of hardcore trail descents. At the bottom is an aggressive tread made from Nike Regrind, a resurrected mixture of solid rubber soles from recycled athletic shoes.
