Columbia is of the old guard, the way old guard. Based out of Portland, Columbia started as a hat distributor in 1938. Frustrated with poor deliveries by their manufacturers, they opted to shoulder the production load on their own. They did it well, so well that they expanded the product line to include outerwear, fishing vests and shirts. They have been outfitting the Pacific Northwest with high quality, affordable gear and clothing ever since.
Columbia has built their business by following three simple principles: innovation, quality and value. In 1982 Columbia introduced their Interchange System ™ which literally launched them to front of the industry. The Interchange System, the essence of these principles, was initially made for hunting and featured a weatherproof outer shell and an insulating inner jacket that could be worn together or separately. This “system” offered three to four options in one parka. This revolutionary concept was so popular that Columbia applied the same system to their ski parka, the Bugaboo, which became an instant best seller. In 1991, they developed Omni–Tech®, their own proprietary waterproof breathable fabric.

The Men's Bugaboo Parka is the first Interchange System ski jacket by Columbia and has been exceeding expectation for the last 20 years. This classic has a burly seam–sealed Omni–Tech Ultra Touch outer shell and a soft fleece liner. Wear them together in ice–cold conditions or apart for spring skiing or around town. The Women's Criterion Parka is the intersection of innovation and value. It features seam–sealed shell, powder skirt, insulated softshell liner, interior pockets, and pit zips. It is the latest in the Interchange System lineage. All the best materials, the latest features - you can't beat it.
On the softer side lives the Men's Ballistic Windproof Fleece Jacket. As durable as a fleece gets, the Ballistic Fleece is made with Omni–Bloc windproof microfleece and features pit–zips, reinforced flexible elbows and a stretch woven softshell overlay.
