Comfortable and remarkably durable
February 10, 2010
I've had these socks for several years now and I continue to marvel at their comfort and toughness. I have used them for hiking, cross country skiing - when it's above zero - and cool weather paddling. They are also my cool weather work socks. After years of vigorous use, not one has developed a hole or material defects. There is some increased firmness in the heel area which does not interfere with comfort significantly. If you want a multipurpose sock that will last and last, you need look no further

Using these mostly for work right now. Cushion is a little softer than my darn tough socks. They're keeping my feet warm right now in cold weather, but seem very breathable for warm weather too.
Good Quality for the price

I haven't given them to my husband yet for Christmas but I was very satisfied with the look and feel of them upon arrival. They arrived in a timely manner from Altrec. I will be ordering from you guys in the future:)

I thought they would be longer, but the weight is great and love the extra comfort spots.

What more can you say? Great product from a great company. Wearable, comfortable, long lasting...just a great sock for walking/hiking/general wear. Warm but not hot.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value

I use these socks for everyday business work usage, as the black color makes them compatible with suits. Although I have only had a chance to wear them in the winter months, I haven't found my feet excessively sweaty. The cushioning is quite reasonable. There is no slippage down the foot, requiring frequent repositioning. I plan to have at least 50 uses out of each pair (I purchased 9), so it should last well...Pros: Build quality
Dry and Comfortable in Tucson
June 02, 2009
I wore these for all day in the Tucson heat, and even put them through a 5 hour hike to 7-Falls in Sabino Canyon. They were not only comfortable, but actually stayed dry. I would highly recommend them, and think I will get a few more in this color, too. They look really nice in addition to their utility.

My favorite socks
March 14, 2011
I'm 6 feet tall, 195 pounds and have size 11 feet. These Dark Olive/ Light Olive socks are the best looking, fitting and wearing light weight hiking socks I own. I also love the color. I usually dress casual for work and these socks go great with most of my day hikers and jeans. They hug my feet and don't bunch up in my shoes. I own other similar socks but only wear them when all seven pairs of my Altrec socks are in the laundry. I also typically get two days wear out of them before they need to be washed.Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great value, great color
Awesome socks for flat feet
February 04, 2011
If you have flat feet, these are a must buy! I have personally experimented with all types of socks and I'm telling you... there exists no better for the arch-impaired. I already own a bunch of these but I keep buying more (in case I lose some in an emergency situation). I kid you not, these have truly been a game-changer for me. Buy a pair. Your feet will thank you. And your wife too.Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost

Warm socks that don't cause my feet to itch like other wool socks.
Excellent midweight hikers
June 18, 2011
Have used these socks in the past and they still have all the great qualities for 3 season hiking. Excellent padding where needed, very breathable, not too hot, and do not recall any blister problems with these socks. This latest sock - which appears to be the same design as always - seems to run a bit larger in the large size. I gave the comfort score a "good" because of this. I am a size 11 men's shoe and maybe after washing the socks they may fit a little more snugly to my foot. Overall still a great sock.Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Great design
