Burton Custom X Snowboard
Last time we checked snowboards couldn't read minds or anticipate turns, but Burton's redesigned Custom X might be the closest you can get to telepathy on an all-terrain freestyle board. The Custom X has always been at the top of Burton's "feel" ratings for responsive snap and performance, but this season they pushed the envelope by adding a new Lightening Bolt fiberglass that almost instantaneously transfers energy from your boots to the snowboard edges without hesitation or second-guessing. The Custom X is a lightweight, incredibly snappy snowboard that's all freestyle for all terrain. It offers a VaporSkin topsheet membrane that drops the weight and enhances the overall feel and feedback from the positive core profile. This experts-oriented design leans toward a freeride platform but certainly holds its own in the half pipe and above the other terrain park toys. Burton augmented this stellar snowboard with more fiberglass for a ruggedly superior strength-to-weight ratio and a fast Sintered N20 WFO base, Dragonfly core and Pressure Distribution Edges for breathtaking speed, faster turns and plenty of pop. Ice, packed, or pow...it doesn't matter. I live in CO and this is the best board for any condition.

I upgraded from a 5yr old Ride Yukon. The Custom X is much more responsive and easier to control. The EST bindings make it east to get perfectly dialed in while on the mountain. You can't go wrong with the board.

I've been riding for about 6 years now and consider myself pretty good but this board will definitely take your riding to the next level. I took the custom X to Park City for some spring riding equiped with Burton EST CO2 bindings and rode it all over the mountain. It handled icy morning groomers (yes ice in Park City.. who'd a thought), afternoon slush, small kickers, double black bowls and riding switch with no problem. It's very responsive and if I pointed it straight down a steep blue/black there were a couple of times I was actually a little scared I was going so fast. The closing speed on skiers is almost dangerous. The top sheet does seem to scratch and knick a little easy but I still highly recommend this board.

Ok, so I've been riding a big mountain board for 5 years, but wanted to make the change to the Custom X because I've been really getting into riding switch. Because I'm not used to riding on multiple boards, it took me a full day to not look like a dork. Once I was used to it, I was amazed at the control the Custom X had in the carve. This board does some serious vibration damping allowing for more contact from turn to turn. I was actually able to take it out into the pow, and it cut through it while floating on top with little effort. Bottom line, I am very impressed with my first impressions.

This is the "One Board to Rule them All." The Burton Custom X is the sickest board on the mountain. I used to ride a Burton 7 and upgraded to a Custom X and what a difference it made. It's lighter, turns much more easily (even on crud) and is super responsive. Trust me, you won't be dissapointed if you buy this board.

I just bought this board, and rode it yesterday @ Keystone Colorado. I am extremely impressed. I thought I may have spent a bit too much on my setup (CustomXwide /w Burton Triads) but I soon learned otherwise. This board is extremely smooth and transfers from its edges with ease. I am thoroughly amazed at the amount of effortless control associated with this board at high speeds. This board also picks up speed farely quickly, leaving your buddies in the dust. Very light, very appealing. Received several comments from lift operators saying how bad ass my board is (I got the baby blue Triad's to match the baby blue on the 168). Highly recommend this board!

this is my second board, used to ride a k2 luna 151. got the custom x 156 this year and love it. it is stiffer than the luna of course, but not by as much as i expected. nevertheless, it rode great, edges held well on the icy slopes that i often encounter where i live. more stable at high speeds. for gals contemplating this over the feelgood es, i recommend it, especially if you're tall like me. it is definitely not too wide, it actually fits my size 8 boots (and the escapade bindings i got to go with this board) very nicely.

The custom x is by far the lightest board i've ever ridden. I cant get over how responsive it is. It holds its edge on everything including sheer ice. There is virtually no chatter. I would recommend this board to any advanced rider who likes to fly down the steeps and weave in and out of human obstacles. Also the board is so light and snappy you can really pop off jumps. Overall great board. If you can afford the steep sticker price then this is the board for you.

WoW. I must say WoW. I rode this and the burton Vapor, and to be honest, the Vapor didnt impress me that much. The Custom X is a bit stiffer than burtons custom, but its well worth it. The pop on the board is amazing..it slings you out of the pipe like an animal. You can use this board for free ride as well, but if your gonna do rails, you have to know what you are doing..
overall, the board is great.

I have ridden a Custom for 5 years and find the Custom X a very worthy upgrade. Even though my old stick is still holding up well, the new board is lightning fast with the new WFO base and has a great feel when carving. Haven't tried it in the pipe yet.

The rail will look like a piece of spaghetti if you bring it within 18 inches of a pebble. Fast and light though.

5th day out i destroy this board. I decked out in the super pipe at breck. im not talkin like core shot or stuff like that im saying the board ripped a huge chunk out, almost is in 2 peices. i figure this is not normal i send it to burton to get the warrenty on it but they wont warrenty it. they wont do anything for me. so if you buy this board dont deck out in a super, it will explode, or at least thats my experience.
