Burton Jeremy Jones Snowboard (Fall 2008):
It's still all about the park, but this season the Jeremy board offers new sizes, including a mid-wide version. The Jeremy also keeps up with the Jones (pun certainly intended) with better flex, feedback and intuitive control if it's paired with
Burton's new E.S.T infinite stance bindings, although this board remains compatible with all Burton bindings in case you can't spring for new bindings this year. But don't dismiss the EST possibilities--unlike bindings with rigid baseplates and gaps between your snowboard, the EST has a cushioned, vibration-absorbing removable plate that transmits the power from your legs to the board (and edges) with less effort than ever before. That translates to bigger and longer tricks in the park and above the pipe. Burton added a new 159 cm. length that's a smidgen wider than before. You'll also find mid-wide options in the 151- and 159-cm. models. While the Jeremy is built with the notion of mornings and afternoons spent on park terrain toys and glistening groomers, you don't need to feel like the board will ban you from the backcountry--but if you want outright performance take it to the kickers, do some transitions and don't forget the rails. Like the Tadashi Fuse, the Jeremy has an even core profile that gives you a consistent and predictable flex and feel throughout the length of the snowboard. Guys who have only been riding for a few seasons will appreciate the extra stability, but the Jeremy isn't a dumbed-down beginner board that goes light on hardcore features. It features Burton's proven and popular Super Fly II wood core, a design that uses strong and light wood in specific core areas for better snap, durability and reduced weight--the same Super Fly II found in The White Collection. The Jeremy also has Burton's highly durable 10:45 Sidewalls with two distinct angles for durability that you can abuse while jibbing without a lot of guilt or worry. In seasons past we found that the 151-cm. Jeremy is the ultimate jibber's ride that's also ideal for compact riders, but the bigger kids around here can't wait to try out the mid-wide dimensions.
