Awesome Jacket
January 15, 2012

The Burton Poacher jacket is very comfortable, light and durable. Great price at Altrec.com. The jacket is well made with excellent waterproofing. When you buy Burton, you're buying a quality product.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value

Great Jacket, light weight, fits well, great price
March 29, 2010

Bought this jacket for springbreak trip to Park City and Deer Valley. We had nice sunny conditions and snowy conditions. The jacket kept me cooled off during the hot sunny days due to the under arm vents and kept me toasty warm during the cold snowy days. Hood and hip cinchers work great to keep the snow out. I really like the inner pocket for ipod or iphone along with the routes for headphones. Plenty of pockets for all of my stuff and enough to carry my kids extras. Highly recommend this jacket. I now have one in three different colors I liked it so much. Be mindful of sizing chart. I usually would wear a 2XL. I have one in XL and the other two in Large.

Ready for Winter
December 02, 2010

I love my new coat. It is warm, comfortable and waterproof. I am new to the colder winters and was looking for something that I could add on to for when it was really cold and comfortable to run around in other times. I come from a warmer climate and dislike wearing coats... this one is going to be fun to wear.

February 07, 2011

I bought these on line and got the matching pants out of the store and the white in the jacket did not match the white in the pants. Its only noticeable when up close. Othrwise I love the jacket. It can be doubled as a checkers board during happy hour on the slopes.

Very Nice
April 04, 2011

I was looking for a good all around jacket at a price that wouldnt break the bank. I found that in this jacket. Perfect for all around conditions; for those colder days just throw a sweatshirt on underneath and you'll be toasty. Has an ipod and google pocket inside which is a great feature. I also like the fleece lined pockets. I have used this in conditions from 30 degrees to 50 degrees and was comfrotable in both. Any temps under 30 degrees I'd probably throw on a sweatshirt or fleece underneath. All around a quality jacket with all the little features you would expect from a snowboard jacket. The only downside is when wearing this jacket when not riding the sleeves are a little long but they have a velcro strap that shortens them up.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Good Purchase
January 05, 2011

I bought this product for myself (im 15 and love to snowboard). I am usually a small/medium and bought a medium size for this coat. Its a little big but i guess that is good for snowboarding and since i will grow. The color is great (I purchased Afterglow) and is a very light lime green. I have not used it out on the mountain yet but am suspecting it will perform perfectley. Overall a good purchae so far.

Overall, very good coat/jacket for the price
January 20, 2012

I've found this jacket, like other Burton jackets I've tried, to run a bit big. That's great if you wanna do some layering, with this coat, you may need. It is insulated some, but will have a tough time keeping you warm unless temps are mild or just a wee bit cold. Under 20 degrees F, you'll definitely want some layers underneath. Lots of cool features, like the zone made for your mp3 player and a pass window for your ski pass. Plenty of pockets to come in handy as well. Overall, seems to be a very well made coat that should last for a long time, should I choose to use it for years and years. True Black goes with everything, so that's always a plus too.

Universal jacket of all
May 16, 2012

This jacket is for someone who is on the tight budget but wants to wear real snowboard clothing. Burton used to call them Phantom a few seasons back and I believe these are the most popular jacket of all Burton jackets. Poacher has everything you expect from snowboard jacket but no more than that. Overall it is a great value jacket.

What a nice jacket!
March 17, 2011

I shopped for a LONG time looking for a snowboard jacket for my 15 year old son who is 6'2" and 186#. I was looking for something not worn by everyone else on the mountain, and not too expensive. I am glad I decided on this jacket. He's received many complements, the colors are great and he loves it too! Some of the reviews said this jacket runs large but I took a chance and ordered an XL and it fits perfectly! We went to Stratton last week and it kept him dry and warm. The ONLY thing it is missing would be an inside pocket or two, but there are plenty of pockets on the exterior. The jacket appears to be durable and well-made (time will tell) and I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

Satisfied with Product
January 18, 2011

Very satisfied with purchase! Fits comfortably, convenient pockets both inside and outside the jacket, able to ski without concern of the jacket ... especially after falling a couple times! Burton Puffalufugus is another jacket that I tried fitting and it is a bit more insulated at a higher price however I was able to wear a couple layers under this jacket and felt fine.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value

July 18, 2011

I found that the jacket fit a bit large in the midsection and the sleeves are on the long side. Overall it fits well, but I would like it a bit more form-hugging. In terms of build quality and water proofing, it is a great jacket. Pretty stylish, and a good value for the price.

Fits great, the micofiber at the chin is a great feature to prevent chaffing. I have long arms and there is plenty of length without exposing my wrists. Plenty of pocket to carry my gear. The vents keep the air moving when standing in the lift line. Overall I'd buy again for the whole family.

Great jacket at great price
March 30, 2012

I knew it wasn't very very warm jacket, but I used only first layer beneath and it was great (-7ยบ Celsius ), it was my first Burton jacket and you can see the quality. Goes really nice with my Poacher pants :) The only disadvantage I see is the quality of zipper at outside pockets, it gets stuck with the material from inside, so it's annoying when you cannot close or open your pocket, besides that it's great!

A Great Burton Jacket
September 28, 2011

I purchased the Burton Poacher Jacket in black for my son. This is the second time I have purchased this exact jacket. I was blown away by this price as this is an amazing jacket at an unbelievable price. The jacket looks stylish enough to wear out and is warm and waterproof for snowboarding. The underlining of the jacket has elastic at the bottom so it holds tight to your body. I would say it runs a bit large as he usually wears a size large in shirts and hoodies, but the medium was perfect fit. There's still plenty of room for a hoodie under it. It's hard to find a good deal on Burton apparel, but this is a steal.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value, looks sharp!

Great jacket. Thinner and lighter than it looks
March 11, 2013

When I first received the jacket I was surprised and kind of disappointed about how light and thin it was. Of course, none of these things mean the jacket won't be warm or waterproof enough, but I had decided to buy this jacket after I borrowed one of the same brand from a co-worker (don't know what model it was) the first time I went snowboarding, and that one felt like a really sturdy and heavy-duty jacket. Anyway, after having worn it once I can say that it performs a lot better than I thought it would. Of course you'll need to wear other layers in order to keep yourself warm in ski resort winter temperatures, but this jacket allows great mobility and keeps you warm and dry in the snow. By the way, I am a beginner to snowboarding and I have been sitting on the snow at least one third of the time I was up there, and the jacket would get wet on the exterior, but never in the interior. I am not amazed by the seams, but the overall quality is pretty good. Regarding the size and fit, I am usually a Large (I am 5'11'' and 208 lbs), I got a Large and it fits perfectly. It's a very comfortable jacket. Then, this is something that I believe is common to most snowboard jackets, but I find it very annoying that when you zip the jacket all the way up you almost have to put on your hood because otherwise it feels uncomfortable. Anyway, as the title of the review says, it is a great jacket overall and it was a great value as well.

Pros: Ease of use, Great value

Excellent jacket for grate price. I like the fit and the features. Just what snowboarder needs to feel comfortable. Keep in mind this jacket is on the cool side (not so much insulation). I ordered medium size Burton poacher Havana jacket for my son. It is way too big and Havana color is a little bit off to fade-out. So I returned it and reordered True black Small size one. I satisfied this black jacket and it fits very well. I don't know why Burton makes so big size than normal size chart. If you need this jacket, consider one size smaller than your regular size.
