Burton Sizing Chart
Snowboard Length Sizing:
A recent survey showed 85% of pro riders revealed that on average they rode boards that are 85% - 92% of their height. The formula to live by is: Rider Height (inches) x 2.54 x 0.88 = Suggested Board Length (cm). And presto, you have the perfect board for you in all conditions. Right? Wrong!!
Keep in mind that there is no magical formula for every rider. It's more or less determined by terrain, conditions and most of all, personal preference. In general, an overall greater cm length will yield a board that can be controlled at and attain greater speeds. In addition, longer boards are better performers and float more in powder due to their increased surface area. Shorter overall lengths yield a board that is more maneuverable and offer a lower swing weight.
|Rider Height||Board Length|
|4'0"" (48"")||103 - 112cm|
|4'2"" (50"")||107 - 116cm|
|4'4"" (52"")||112 - 121cm|
|4'6"" (54"")||116 - 126cm|
|4'8"" (56"")||120 - 130cm|
|4'10"" (58"")||125 - 135cm|
|5'0"" (60"")||129 - 140cm|
|5'2"" (62"")||133 - 144cm|
|5'4"" (64"")||138 - 149cm|
|5'6"" (66"")||142 -154cm|
|5'8"" (68"")||146 -158cm|
|5'10"" (70"")||151- 163cm|
|6'2""+ (74"")||159cm - 172cm|
Snowboard Width Sizing:
Board width is as important, if not more important, than overall length in selecting the right board for you.
A board that is too narrow in relation to a rider's boot will cause toe and heel drag. With a board that's too wide, the rider will not be able to put adequate pressure on the toe and heel edge, thus creating an unresponsive ride.
Use the following chart to gauge the relationship between your boot size and board.
|Mens Boot Size||Womens Boot Size||Youth Boot Size||Board Width (at base)|
|Up to 5.5||Up to 6||Up to 6||Up to 24 cm Narrow|
|6 to 10||6.5 to 11||24-25.5 cm Regular|
|10 to 12||25.5-26.5 cm Midwide|
|12 or larger||26.5 cm+ Wide|

SWEET STICK FOR A SWEET PRICE
January 19, 2013
Alright to start off I was riding a 155 Arbor Element which was a long, but I still loved it. Unfortunately, my board was stolen and I now needed a new one so I went to the local mountain board shop and demoed the Burton Superhero. Based on my riding skill and style I was recommended the 148. The superhero is an awesome board that is great in all conditions; park, pow, groomers. The overall quality of it is incredible and the first time I stuck it into the snow was sweet. It was perfect for my style; steeps, trees, pow, some park. It's quick, flexible, and also responsive. I just needed to purchase my own after the demo so I saw the "second quality" board on Altrec's website for a great price that I just could not pass up. I was first a little leery about the warranty and design of the board so I started an online chat with an Altrec employee. She was extremely polite, helpful, and informed me that Burton does use their normal warranty policy for their "second quality" boards. I received the deck in the mail and so far I have not noticed a single blemish, I have noticed it's awesome design and sweet quality though! Overall, I highly recommend the superhero for hard riders and you won't be disappointed with this board. Overall, it is an awesome board for a sweet price from Altrec who has awesome employees. HAPPY RIDING!!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

I previously owned a Burton Custom from a few years ago and was really feeling like what I could do with my board was limited. For some inspiration, I used the Burton Board Finder (on their website) to get some ideas about where I should be looking. It directed me to this board, and when I saw the sale (I got this bad boy for 70% retail), I bought in right away. The "Second Quality" idea seemed really cool to me. I was actually hoping for a board with really messed up/weird graphics, but I can't find anything that's different on this board than one that would be considered "First Quality". A few days after order, the board appeared (Altrec doesn't require signatures on their snowboard packages BTW from UPS) and tested it out. The Super Hero really lives up to its name. It's surprisingly smaller size (4-5 cm smaller than what you normally ride) lets you really move around a lot, but I never felt unstable. Landing jumps is incredibly easy on it. I'd really recommend it for the rider that feels like they've hit a glass ceiling and is looking to push their riding harder/faster/stronger.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Second schmecond... Top quality

A great flexible board great for butters and chill rides all around. Second quality board but aside from the stamp on the bottom I can't find anything wrong. Flat top, channel, and radiation make for an extremely fun and playful ride, a little washy on the carves and some slight chatter when you unleash, but dialed in and after getting accustomed to the ride, there's no problems taking this anywhere, bumps, glades, parks, and open corduroy... Sweeeeet. Some added pop would be nice, but that's not the boards strong point. Some more aggressive frostbite edges would help the carving but for beginners and experienced riders who know what they want this will be a solid stick.Pros: Great design, Ease of use, Great value
Great park board

I rode this board for two days in the park. It has a good amount of flex in it without making it too sketchy off the bigger jumps. The nug raduction let's you size down 4-5 cm giving you increased maneuverability in the air and on rails without sacrificing stability. This is the 3rd Hero I've owned in 3 years and they just keep getting better.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, nug raduction
