It's a considerable step up from other jackets that sometimes opt for 40-gms.--but just remember that while the Dutchess is great for cold days, some women might find the insulation too much for snowboarding during mid-spring. The extra insulation pairs nicely with Burton's waterproof and slightly breathable Storm-Lite 3.0-E shell fabric. It's not as breathable as the A-grade Storm-Lite, but it's excellent for cold climates, especially in dry snow conditions. Inside you'll find fully taped seams for enhanced weather protection. The Dutchess has a removable contour hood that is ideal for women who prefer to ride with a helmet or accessorize with a fun hat. Faux fur along the collar and lining add a hint of distinct detail without harming our little furry friends.
