4.5 out of 5

This pack really is great. 2L reservoir keeps you going all day, and 450cu in. is great for holding whatever you need for a day hike or trail run. Removable hipbelt lets you trim some grams off. All in all the thing is great. Best feature though, the reservoir can be externally filled meaning, like the Unbottle, you don't have to remove the reservoir from the pack to fill it up. Awesome stuff.
Molten Lava version: Camelbak Consigliere review
January 11, 2010
Upon receiving the Camelbak, one thing I did notice, it was allot bigger than I anticipated, compared to my Lobo. Weight was also heavier, but, interesting thing, while I was using the Consigliere, it felt a lot lighter. Weight distribution on my back/shoulders, must have been improved, since the weight felt almost non existent. Very surprised and happy. Pro's: Larger compartments Easier access to the bladder Distributes weight extremely well Back panel is very comfortable Did not move around when hitting jumps 1 easy access pocket on top Cons: Needs a a few more small, easy access pockets Straps are not very functional carrying extra gear. The "Don" would be more suited for Downhill bikers who have more gear. No expansion pocket I carry a 750 ML of Heed, using a tube w/ bite valve. The outside compartment works perfectly for the 750ml container, however, my 1 L container is a bit to big. Near perfect for my intended use, carrying an extra container of Heed, w/ 70 oz of water. I ride XC and AM.
