Convenince worth the cost
Maybe a little bit more than other additives, but they are so easy to use and taste good too. Took them on a three week climb and they worked like a charm. Perfect for the Camelbak .75L bottles we carried. They do produce some fizzle (gas) as they dissolve. You can vent it off a few minutes after you drop the tablet in. No after taste in the bottle either.

Electrolytes
Sometimes water just isn't enough. I have reduced my leg cramps by adding electrolytes to the mix. I feel stronger and stay hydrated longer.

Tastes good, provides electrolytes
No bad aftertaste, easy to carry in a backpack or waistpack, tastes good, without the sugar rush.
