It's not uncommon for skiers or snowboarders to lose up to 1.5 liters of water in a morning of cruising blues or busting a few bumps. Dehydration not only saps your strength and energy, but it also increases the chance of injury. The problem is that more than a few hydration reservoir designs either burst after the first fumbled heel side turn or suffer from frozen tubes at altitude. The Zoid™ features CamelBak®'s OMEGA™ reservoir, a screw-top pouch tested to burst extremes that exceed the pressure exerted by the full weight of an automobile. This is important because you can wear the insulated Zoid™ beneath your jacket to protect it from freezing. The hydration tube remains wrapped in an insulated zip harness system to minimize icing. A small zippered compartment provides quick access to keys, energy bars, or your wallet.

Great product. Very comfortable. You hardly notice that your are wearing one. It hold just enough water to last me all day on the mountain. With the price I paid from Altrec, it a no brainer. Highly recommended for snowboarder and skier!!

The zoid is a great looking piece of equipment that allows me to snowboard all morning without taking a break. It's sturdier than the knock-offs.

I don't know how I ever went skiing or hiking without this little guy. It's so convenient to be able to get a sip of water when you get thirsty rather than trying to get a water bottle out.
The front pocket makes it a lot easier to fill and refill. I've seen friends who don't have the front pocket and I just laugh at them having to pull the entire tube out just to refill.
I also like the how the pack is insulated so the water stays nice and cool and the tubing never freezes.

I'm so happy that I purchased the Zoid. I ski alot and wanted something that would last in cold conditions. The first time I used it was on a ski trip to Lake Tahoe and it worked out perfectly. The water stayed cold, but the hose never froze! I would definitely recommend the Zoid to anyone who wants a cold weather camelbak.
Anonymous - 2004-01-13New Camelbak Zoid is a Winner
I have owned the a Camelbak Zoid for a few years now, used primarily for skiing trips. My recent purchase of the updated Zoid was for my 11 year old and I wish I could convince him to take mine instead. The original design worked well but the new design has "cleaned things" up a bit. The bladder is better insulated is now better integrated into the pack (the smae goes for the insulated tube) The dimensions are shorter and wider which works better for balance.

This pack is a great deal. Your drink won't freeze. If you enjoy winter sports, save money and buy this pack instead of getting a pack that you later have to buy the insulation for.The resevoir is easy to fill. The pocket is convenient. I also use it during the summer for cycling.
