Description

After 20 years of being the jacket of choice at Antarctica's McMurdo station, the Canada Goose Men's Expedition Parka can handle just about any cold weather locale. Made with an exterior of durable Arctic-Tech cotton/poly blend fabric with a DWR finish, this winter jacket will block the wind, resist light moisture and snow and stand up to heavy duty work. Exceptionally warm and stuffed with high quality 625-fill down insulation, this winter parka is lined with smooth nylon fabric and designed with a relaxed fit to easily accommodate more base layers when you get down into temps that are well below freezing. The tunnel hood is trimmed with coyote fur and has a bracing wire for shaping it to your wind blocking and visibility needs and the storm skirt and recessed rib-knit cuffs block out spindrift. Large exterior fleece-lined pockets offer easy gear storage and will keep your hands warm when they aren't busy. From an aurora borealis safari in the north to a search for cold-loving penguins in the south, this Canada Goose down jacket has a history of cold weather expeditions already and is ready for a new adventure with you.

Great jacket
May 23, 2011

I have been looking for a Canada goose after my girlfriend got an Canada goose to coup with this miserable winter at New York city. I am very happy with this coat. The build quality and combination of materials is superb. i can't imagine myself being cold again with this coat. it has two warm packet for my hands, and the hat is just perfect for any freezing weather. only thing is that the size is a bit bigger than normal size.I am 175 lbs, 5'11" and wear 42R for suit, I normally wear a M, I tried out on an M at the nearby store, and it was way too big. that is why i ordered a S, it fits well. Although the price is a bit high, but you got what you pay for. it is a great Canada Goose jacket. it is a worthwhile investment.

Quality you expect from Canada Goose
August 08, 2012

I was very impressed with the construction and quality of the material. People complain about price but there is and old saying "You get what you pay for" The reason there parka's are fairly expensive is the construction and quality of their products. Also they have a long history of use by top researchers in very harsh conditions. I was amazed at how light but warm the parka was. Also I want to say I have been very impressed with my experiences with Altrec. They are very professional and have great prices for quality products. Also they are a real official site to purchase Canada Goose products. I called Canada Goose and verified that Altrec was one of their distriutors. There are a lot of conterfeit sites that offer Canada Goose parkas for ridiculously low prices. You are not going to get a Canada Goose Parka for $250-325 dollars. You have to pay for quality. Altrec is one of the finest online retailers I have ever had the experience to deal with and have been a pleasure.

Little comfortable home to carry with
October 08, 2011

Was tested in Norway on nearly minus 30 Celsius on a pretty windy day and was really like a snails winter house you are carrying with you. Really comfortable. Fits little bit larger than the actual size. Am 5,9 feet long and 170 lbs got an M size. Enough pockets to carry all that you need with you. A must have for people who prefer to buy things once for whole life and want to be ready for another Ice Age.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value, Cons: Cost

Lasts Forever
March 01, 2012

I have been overwhelmed with the quality, durability, and workmanship of this parka. Very, very warm. It is cut big enough to layer underneath, so it keeps me plenty warm into negative temperatures. The one con is that it is a little bit heavy. This thing is built like a tank! Plus, you have the lifetime guarantee and great service from altrec. They do run big. I ordered down a size and it is perfect. Altrec is the best staff I have ever worked with, i would highly recommend them.

Great Parka!!!!!!!!!
January 14, 2013

If you experience extra harsh winters wherever you live, then Canada GooseÂ’s Expedition Parka is the way to go! This parka fuses together materials such as duck down, coyote fur, polyester, and cotton to create a parka that will prepare you to walk through a blizzard. The hood and coyote fur are both detachable, the parka is long enough to cover most of your body, and it is highly durable. This is a great choice!

serious stuff...
April 10, 2011

Where to start...how about WOW! I just got mine in the mail, and it is serious quality and protection. I can't decide if it's either the Mercedes Benz or Humvee of parkas. First, it weighs about 5 lbs. according to my weight scale. Second, the design and construction (yep construction would be a good word for this item) is pretty amazing. Third, I am 6' 1" and about 210, and the medium feels a *tad* large, I think a small would've been no problem. But medium is probably optimal for the usage of this parka (for heavier layering if need be, while retaining freedom of movement). I read that someone has theirs for 25 years and going, and I could see this parka holding up for that long no problem. I could also see falling off the side of a snowy mountain in the middle of a blizzard, hopping back up, dusting off a bit of snow, and act like nothing had happened. This is the second Canada Goose item I've bought from Altrec, and highly recommend Altrec and Canada Goose.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use

I used this coat when traveled to North Caucasus Mountains in Russia. It kept me dry and warm, so I accomplished all my hiking tasks. This is really a must have for extreme weather conditions.

2 weeks in Dec/Jan St Petersburg Russia: perfect!
April 14, 2010

Spent 2 weeks in St Petersburg Russia over New Year 2010. Heaviest snowfall in 140 years, many many streets blocked, but ENJOYED WALKING EVERYWHERE, NIGHT AND DAY IN THIS COAT! Wind has no effect, simply amazing. Bulky but not too heavy.

Next time you'll need a coat will be 2035
January 26, 2011

If your idea of good value is buying a winter jacket just once every quarter of a century then the Canadian Goose Expedition is the coat for you. The last one I bought was in 1985, and while I could get away with continuing to wear it, the time has come for a new Canadian Goose. Getting the new coat is like enjoying a martini with an old friend: all feels right in the world. The real coyote collar is so much better than anything phony; the zipper is substantial; the sleeves have seals to keep out the cold air and snow; there are, if anything, too many pockets, so finding where you put your cell phone can be a challenge. The coats do run a bit large but there's no cozier feeling of warmth than wearing the Canadian Goose Expedition. I recommend it without hesitation.

NICE JACKET AND WARM BUT TOO PRICY! MAY NEED TO SEEK ANOTHER PRICE LOWER JACKET LIKE NORTH FACE IS BETTER. IN ADDITION, SIZE IS THE FACTOR THAT IT RUN PRETTY BIG FOR A SIZE ADULT SMALL. IT ALMOST A MEDIUM FOR NORTH FACE SO MAYBE THE MANUFACTURE CAN MAKE IT SMALLER.

great parka needs only a little design change
May 26, 2011

over all this is a GREAT parka.i've had it for 1 1/2 winters now. it's the warmest, most comfprtable i have ever worn. only one problem. the side entry hand warmer pockets are positioned too low. toe get your hands comfortably into the pockets you end up pulling the lower portion of the parka up. it would be better if the hand warmer pockets were positioned about 4 inches higher. other than that, in my opinion, the best winter parka available

Probably the CHANEL of Parkas. Fits little big, well made, coyote fur hood is very warm. Wish they had a reach through packets so Pricey, but worth the price. Wish they made snow boots! Their gloves are great. Altrec needs to improve size and color availability though.

Great Winter Coat
August 01, 2011

What an amazing down coat. This coat is simply the best one out there. It is amazingly warm. It is slightly bulky, but the warmth far outweighs any bulk issues. The hood is also tremendous when it comes to really cold days with really strong winds. The hood just about blocks everything out. I recommend this coat to anyone who lives in a cold climate and is in need of a very warm coat.

A little bit oversized but I will wear
January 13, 2013

I ordered an M size Canada Goose Expedition. A little bit oversized, so it is rather long for me. But I will wear it. In my opinion, Expeditions' bulkiness makes those who wear them more attractive. I really dont't like those people crazy about slim fit jackets or parkas and make them the current fashion trend these days. You have to bear in mind that not everybody is a model who really gets along with a slim fit jacket!

March 16, 2010

I live in Russia, the Arctic Circle in the winds Murmansk. I have been a lifeguard, you often have to travel to the mountains to search for the missing in the snowy mountains of our tourists. In this jacket, I feel warm and comfortable, I am not afraid of either the northern icy wind, nor storm nor frost, even when changing the temperature, I feel wonderful! Deaf hood saves me from the winds. There are many convenient pockets on the nature of his work I have to keep the number of GPS, radio and satellite phone, for them is always a place. Canada Goose Expedition Parka
January 14, 2012

Probably the Rolls Royce of Parkas. Fits very well, well made, coyote fur hood is very warm. Wish they had a reach through packets so I could have access to my pants pockets and belt for wallet and cell phone access, though this might compromise the warmth. I would highly recommend. Pricey, but worth the price. Wish they made snow boots! Their gloves are great. Altrec needs to improve size and color availability though.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, very warm fits well, highly recommended, good variety of colors though altrec is limited, Cons: lack of reach through pockets, zipper a bit difficult to work

I saw this when I was in Toronto, Canada. After I came back to US, I always wanted to find one. It is a good jacket. It will keep you warm when ever the weather be. The Parka is very comfortable to wear and its design in the sleeves prevents wind, water and snow from entering the jacket. In addition, the Parka prevents the elements from getting in from any angle, which is so beneficial as it allows me to be warm during severe snow storm conditions. The Parka provides a lot of pockets for your necessary tools with out sacrificing comfort.
