a little different than the average jacket
I have several similar down jackets to compare with: The Lodge (in size L) is a little heavier (563 g.-it seems that they stuffed about 6oz. of 750 fill into it- a lot, making it very warm!); slimmer fit; a little shorter (28" back length compared to most at 29-30") mostly comfy smooth nylon around the neck (some have tricot or fleece all around, Lodge only in front); and a lot warmer.
This jacket oozes quality- the fit, materials and stitching are superb and blow away the rest in that respect. I've had it out in low 30 degree windy weather and it is warmer than most and quite resistant to wind. BUT- I wear large in most jackets and I find I usually have enough roominess to modestly layer underneath. I cannot layer underneath the Lodge. If you want to wear anything warm underneath it, SIZE UP! It is very comfortable and shaped beautifully slim, as though it were custom tailored- you'll look good in it for sure. Because of its 28" back length, I believe that they intend it to be the insulation layer, not the outer. It is perfect under even short wp shells because they cover it completely: it will stay dry. As to durability, how durable can 20 denier nylon be? I'm not going to put it to a test! Note: left handed zipper pull like european models. I wish they didn't put that dumb patch on the shoulder. Expensive too.

Awesome Jacket
I was looking for a toasty warm, sporty jacket that is a bit more stylish and unique than so many of the other down puffers out there. This jacket is fantastic - it's really warm and fits like a glove (slim without being constricting). The jacket is really well made, with great detailing and thoughtful features. The cuffs are a really nice touch, as is the adjustable waist tension in the pockets. Great jacket from a fantastic maker.
P.S. Its is actually made in Canada!

Good for temprature in windy 40s in the northeast. Comfortable and good quality. A bit light and might not hold up in really cold weather. Order one size up and layer up in colder days.

For those who really care for quality
