Description

Designed for the scientists working at McMurdo station in Antarctica, the Canada Goose Women's Expedition Parka has been serving them well for the last 20 years. No matter where you battle harsh conditions, this winter jacket is built to withstand the coldest, snowy climates. A durable poly/cotton Arctic-Tech shell is not waterproof but it is treated with a DWR finish to help resist light moisture and snowflakes. This winter jacket is stuffed with high quality 625 fill duck down for insulation that is lightweight and stays lofty for years and lined with smooth, moisture-managing nylon. Outside you have multiple fleece-lined pockets, a storm flap covering the full front zipper and a coyote fur trimmed hood with a bracing wire that you can shape for customized visibility and wind-blocking face protection. Inside this down parka a snowskirt keeps the spindrift and icy winds out. With an iconic, expedition-inspired look and a relaxed fit that allows for lots more warm layers underneath, the Canada Goose Expedition Parka for women still has a feminine edge that will warm up any icy locale.

Very Glad I Bought this!
March 09, 2012

I have always been very cold and could not find a warm coat to wear. Until now! I love this coat! It keeps me soo warm! Some great details about this coat. You wont need a hat ever, because you just pull up the hood and then the hood has an encased drawstring which you can pull the hood closer to your head and no air will pass through. You wont need a scarf because it will feel that you are wearing one because there is a fur like fabric on the inside of the top of the front placket. You won't have to carry a bag around because the coat has huge pockets. Sizing is a little big around the chest which allows you to layer if needed. Great coat!!

An Exceptionally Warm Jacket!
January 14, 2012

I was very impressed with the quality of this jacket. I have tried it in temperatures of -15C with wind chill and did not feel the cold at all. Unlike the Kensington parka, the fur collar is quite full, but does not zip off, so removing it to get the coat washed might be a hassle. I also have a North Face Triple C parka and the Expedition parka is substantially warmer and higher in quality, although much heaver (and more costly). There are a number of thoughtful features included in the design of the jacket, such as the knitted sleeves to keep out the wind and the velcro on the snowskirt is covered so that it doesn't stick to your jumper when it is not in use. I also like how the down used in the jacket is ethically sourced. Overall, I am very pleased with my Canada Goose Expedition parka and I feel that I am now adequately equipped for the harsh Chicago winter.

Great Jacket...
December 28, 2011

I contemplated going with the Canada Goose Trillium but decided on the expedition based on the extra features it offer (full down etc). I am 5'8 and 127 lbs and this jacket fits perfectly. If you are more interested in more feminine lines and a more of a sleeker fit go with the Trillium, otherwise this jacket is amazing. Very warm even in the Toronto, Canada climate. I highly recommend this jacket. Cheers!

Worth every cent
May 28, 2011

Purchased two parkas men and women variant for our family. We are more then satisfied with the quality of the product. And it is really a pleasure The parkas keep us warm everywhere, we used them on minus 25 degree Celsius and fast wind in Russia. On minus 15 Celsius i had only a T-shirt under the parka. I also tried to put it on for 20 minutes at home with about 20 degrees Celsius inside and was not sweating. Parkas fit a little bit larger then the actual size but are still comfortable to wear and i wouldn't purchase another size. I'm about 5,40 feet long, 104 lbs and purchased XS size. But it's definitely not a slim-fit outwear . Really a lot of pockets, so you wouldn't need a bag when going out.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost

#1 Parka For Severe Winter Weather!
August 06, 2012

I think my title sums this parka up well. The design is durable, quality craftsmanship. It has been impenetrable to the cold and snow. It is actually too warm for 30s weather. It truly shines in sub zero temps. Lots of deep pockets to fit gear, personnel stuff, or just to stuff your gloved hands into. The pockets are Velcro closed and its some grippy tough Velcro! The hand warmer pockets are a nice touch too. Some women may find this parka on the bulky side, but its not made for showing off your curves! It's for extreme weather conditions that require bulk and warmth. The length is mid thigh for maximum protection. The length does make starting the zipper a little tricky, but with practice you'll get better. I often wear only a t-shirt underneath and am perfectly warm. It is a relax cut as so to accommodate layering if needed and free range of movement. The hood is not removable, requiring dry cleaning only. Nice thing about the hood is the wire insert that allows you to bend and form the coyote trim. It stays put even in high winds. My hood has a wonderfully prime fluffy fur to it with nice long guard hairs at the center. It provides an excellent neck warmer when cinched around your neck. I normally wear womens XL shirts (40-42 inch chest) and I take an XL in this parka so I'd say its true to size. Yes this parka is pricey but WELL worth the money. Canada Goose provides a lifetime warranty & repair, and I plan on using it for many many years.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever

QUALITY!!
November 27, 2011

This is a great parka for snow climates, warm with only a tee shirt under it. Runs narrow through the hips, if you are hour glass shaped it may be snug. I love it, I looked at hundreds of parkas and found this one to be the best quality with real fur.

Pros: Build quality

Amazing parka
January 27, 2011

This is really an amazing parka!! Keeping you warm in any parts of the planet! I wore this parka with nothing but a t-shirt underneath in Siberia at temperatures below -40F (probably -50 with windchill) and stayed perfectly warm. This is likely to be too warm for temperatures above zero degrees F unless you are sedentary for long periods of time. This thing is so stuffed with down it's like covering your entire body in a big fluffy down pillow. It's super comfortable.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance

Very high-quality jacket
September 29, 2011

It's only Fall so I haven't been able to wear this in the coldest weather yet, but it definitely feels like it can stand up to anything. I live in Chicago and need something very durable. The style looks not terribly boxy, and it doesn't feel so thick that it's uncomfortable. I am 5'3" and about 105lbs and the XS fits with a little extra room for a sweater underneath. The length is good.

This is the warmest coat ever. I wore it on a trip to Iceland in the winter, and it was perfect. There's elastic around the hood so that it stays in place. The size of the opening is adjustable as well.
