Exactly what I expected from Carhartt... QUALITY
May 26, 2012
Great quality. When I examined the stitching, I was impressed. No loose threads like other boots I've owned. The leather is great quality with no blemishes to be seen. I'm really liking the safety toe, rather than steel toe, and the insulation in to boot as well, my feet stay cool all day while working on hot concrete or asphalt. I'm an electrician, and my boots take a beating day in and day out. I have the feeling that these will last twice the life of other boots I've owned (Wolverine, Timberland Pro, Doc Martin Industrial). The boot is true to size in length, but SLIGHTLY smaller on width. Not to the point where I'd by a wider size, once they broke in, they fit like a glove. It took about 2 weeks of 5 - 10 hour days to break in by the way. They don't have the greatest arch support out of the box, but for years I've always used the Dr. Scholl's custom orthotics, so this wasn't a concern to me. And yes, they are water proof... at least while standing in about 2-3 inches of water... I will most defiantly buy these boots again and would recommend them to anyone. I've owned these boots for about a month now...Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: 2 weeks break in period
