IThis is good for cold dry weather from about 50F - 20F if it is not too windy; this will absorb rain water so be aware, but has a great tough feel for a sweatshirt, this doesn't feel like any sweatshirt you wore in HS, this is heavy. The zipper is the weak spot in this so cold wind gets in when it is time to add more clothing. This has excellent insulation properties so when it gets cold add a good windbreaker or winter coat over this and feel comfortable in very cold temps. This is good for everyday use as well as a base in bitter cold weather. Hooty

After trying every simple black hoodie on the market, I finally settled on the Carhartt since I already own two other Carhartt jackets and I couldn't be happier, nice and lightweight for those lightly cool California days but warm enough for a night out in foggy SF. Don't buy some cheapo black hoodie and have it fall apart on you, buy one of these and have it last you for years

This is a really nice hoodie, thick, warm, sturdily constructed. However, be aware that it's basically miniskirt length. If you have a normal frame, the bottom edge of this jacket will be hugging your thighs. On the other hand, in severely cold weather this could be a distinct advantage. Your mileage may vary.

I ordered two and both were as expected. I ordered the tall size and as previously stated they are a little long, but that is much better than being a little short! Quality is what you would expect from Carhartt. This was the best price I could find on the internet. Shipping was quick. Would buy from Altrec again.

Everything one expects from a hooded sweatshirt! Thick & cozy, well made by Carhartt! The only thing that could use some improvement is the hood drawstring, its a little thin. I'll pull it out and replace it with something thicker.

A Carhartt is a Carhartt... Great quality, lasts forever. Most Carhartt products are "too heavy" for me, they are great for work but too thick for casual wearing.. this one is different and it is very light and comfortable as well.

Pretty straight forward zip hoodie here. Midweight thickness is perfect for average use. This sweatshirt is durable so far, no signs of wear at the cuffs or elbows etc, and no loss of stretch at the cuffs even though I usually push up the sleeves.

I've worn hoodies my entire life. The Carhartt medium-weight is the finest. The heavyweight version is only appropriate for colder weather. This is a quality hoodie that will last for many years. Order one size down and enjoy.

cheap, sticky zipper

Honestly, I thought Carhartt would make a better quality product than this...The zipper felt totally cheap and chintzy and was sticky and rough as I zipped it. The fabric felt pretty good though, but a little on the loose-knit side so I'm wondering how long before it starts falling apart. Disappointing and returning it, I am keeping the Carhartt Heavyweight sweatshirt though - that one was worth the money.
