This cotton canvas jacket is made from durable 12-ounce sandstone duck fabric; Carhartts most durable fabric that is washed to give it a worn-in, supple feel. Lined with polyester mesh for a little extra warmth and bulk, it has a rib-knit waistband and cuffs that help seal in body heat. Two inside zippered pockets and 2 large front hand pockets give you storage options. The Carhartt Sandstone Active Jacket for men is triple-stitched for extra strength.

After washing the coat we purchased according to manufacturers directions, it shriveled up and shrunk in length in the trunk and arms. I was very surprised to see this in a Cahartt jacket. If we purchase another one it won't have an elastic waistband or elastic in the sleeves. This material doesn't hold up in the washing machine or dryer.
