I bought this jacket for my husband after he trashed several expensive jackets working in the woods. He hasn't used it much yet, but i can tell that the super-durable looking fabric is going to be much better for the abrasion that happens when he's out carrying logs, equipment, etc. around. I bought the sherpa-lined version because he actually gets pretty warm while working out there, and I'd heard that the arctic quilted version is warmer. I wish this jacket came in a *less* warm version, actually, because you can always add more layers underneath. The zipper is incredibly rugged, which is great- i feel like it's always the first thing to give out on a coat. Overall, the quality seems top-notch. Regarding size, i feel like this jacket runs a little large. My husband is 5'10," weighs ~180, and has a pretty trim build, and the Medium fits him well, with room to spare around the body for layers. He usually finds that things are too short in the arms, but this coat is fine, and the ribbed cuffs fall where they should. I also ordered the large and it seemed really huge around the body/midsection, which would have been fine if he weighed another 30 pounds, maybe. I hope this helps someone!

I gave this an "excellent" rating for durability although I've only recently purchased this item. I have had other Carhartt products and base this rating on them, as well as this jacket's obviously high quality construction. I used to wear a hoodie under my jacket, but with the optional button-on hood, I don't have to anymore. I like the big front pockets, and the lining is much better than flannel. I know this jacket will last for years and recommend you look at this one before buying your next jacket.

My husband loves his new jacket. He is 6' 2" so he ordered the tall and it fits him perfect! Well insulated. He likes the wrist of the coat - they keep the cold out. The jacket is also longer in the back so as to cover up part of his backside. The jacket is very high quality.

Great looking and warm jacket

I looked carefully at several Carhartt jackets and picked this one for its softer fabric and warm Sherpa lining. The fit is right on for my chest, arms, and shoulders, but a bit big around the waist, or I'd give it 5 stars. The Petrol Blue is darker than the web photo suggests, closer to Navy. Altrec's service is top-notch. Ordered on Monday and was wearing the jacket by the weekend!

We use the Sandstone Dearborn for a wildland firefighting module and these jackets are perfect for our medium weight jackets. They are durable and warm, very happy.

When i recieved my carhartt dearborn jacket size xl it fit me perfect, i am 235 lbs and 6 ft. 1'', the color dark brown is a great color that goes well with jeans and a flannel shirt and the back length is just right for working and driving comfort. I love this jacket and highly recommend it for an all around jacket. The service was excellent!

I like this jacket. It feels very warm although the temp in Mobile, Al has yet to get very cold yet. I am anxious to see if it will be warm in Chicago,Il this winter. I will let you know.
