Super fast shipping, thanks :) The jacket is a lot warmer than I expected and it's built like a tank. Water beads right off me. Like another reviewer mentioned it does fit a bit large, wish I didn't rip the tags off, I need a size smaller :/ All in all it's a great buy.

This coat is amazing, i have two snowmobile coats (klim,hmk) that cost between three and four hundred dollers. This coat performs as good if not better for 1/3 the price. great coat!!!

Really a great jacket. It's not insulated, but I didn't want an insulated jacket. I wanted a durable waterproof jacket. This fits the bill perfectly. Perfect jacket to wear in the rain or any weather. Has room for base layers for colder days too, while keeping you dry.

I first tried to order from Carhartt and they were out of stock. I found it here and at a better price and shipped quickly! Just took a hiking trip over New Years in 16 degree cold Virginia and stayed nice and warm. Thanks Altrec!

I purchased this jacket for my boyfriends 26th birthday as he works for a tree company and is outside for a good majority of the day. He loves it!! He does wear a beanie with it, as the hood is kinda floppy, but he usually wears a hat and gloves in the winter anyway. It's warm enough, waterproof, and it looks good on him!! I am VERY pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to others!! He's 6 foot, average build. I ordered it in black, size medium and it fits perfect. Lots of pockets too!! When he showed his friends who also wear Carhatt jackets...they were impressed too! Said " I may have to get one like that!" Kudos to me!! :)

I got this Jacket for my pops for xmas, and he loves it got him the beanie to go along with it since hes always outdoors working its a good combo. I measured him and the size chart does run a bit large about half a size bigger so if you measure yourself just know you will have about 2-3 inches bigger. I am on my way back to get me the same jacket for myself love there quality and durability.

during all but very warm, sweaty weather, this is a killer rain/snow outer layer piece of gear. my work puts me on or near the open water most of the time and besides being waterproof, this outfit is cut to seal well and reduces wind entry. you will be very happy with this one. it is sized to fit over insulating layers beneath. that allows it to be opened or shed if things heat up on the job. and of course, worn during moderate temps alone. again, this is a superb w/p jacket. i also got the pants to go with it. with both on, i am good to go when the other guys are 'worried wet'. very happy with this. just wanted to pass a high 5 to the Carhartt designers.

Very good waterproof carhartt jacket. Kinda noisy but the wind proof and waterproof makes up for the noise. Hood is bulky and I dont use it unless it rains real hard.

I have worn Carhartt jackets for over 20 years and all where made of their cotton canvas material. This is my first foray trying out Carhartt's nylon shell jacket. Fit is excellent. Had a minor issue with the zipper. Otherwise the quality is very good. If its cold (<45oF) your going to need a layer underneath to stay comfortable all day. I predict this jacket will last a long time.

Lightweight Rain Jacket

I am happy with this jacket because I like that it is lightweight and waterproof. In December, with 32F temperature, I wear a hooded sweatshirt underneath to stay warm. Kept me dry in the rain and dries off quickly.

The local fire department gives this coat to their volunteers after they have been with them a year. It is very masculine and a deep saturated black. It does run a little large. My boyfriend usually wears a Tall-Large, but this was way too big around the cirumference, by about 4-6". I am hoping to find it in Tall-Medium. This a shorter coat, as shown. It does not cover hips. My boyfriend was looking at a longer Helly Hanson coat, but it looks so "old man". This coat is very cool looking in that Carhart sort of way. I would recommend.

As another poster said, this jacket is built like a Tank. Got the non-insulated jacket hoping it would be good for hot summer days as well as everything else, but its a little heavy for that, I believe it's going to be great for rain/snow in the fall/winter months.

Works as a Rainy Day Jacket

I got this as a X-mas present for my husband and he wore it right away and said he really liked it. This is a functonal jacket which isn't supple. It is somewhat breathe-able. It is for cool rainy days and a bit warm for southern California. The hood needs a drawstring to improve its usability. However, on our trip to the UK last week and on rainy days, he was grateful to have it. He has long arms and sometimes things don't do well in body length and arm length, but this was just right.

This jacket is a perfect all weather solution for those looking for a quality mid wieght jacket that will keep you dry in snow and rugged enough to stand up to heavy use. Keep in mind this is a shell so you will need to layer to stay warm, but for wind and snow, it is great. I think the size runs a little big, but not really enough to size down.

Tough jacket

I farm so I needed a tough jacket. This does the trick. Waterproof, wind proof and breathes well. I've washed it several times and I wear it most of the year. I've worked in the pouring rain and didn't get wet in this jacket. I'm 5'10 180lbs and the medium fit perfect. I can even wear a sweatshirt underneath.

This is a nice jacket. With a few adjustments, it could be a great jacket. As anyone who has used Carhartt products would expect, this jacket has bombproof construction and will stand the test of time. It is water resistant and absolutely stops the wind. I bought it to layer under for everyday winter wear in North Dakota. With a North Face Redpoint jacket layered underneath, it handles subzero temps and bone-chilling wind. That being said, here are the adjustments I would make: 2-way heavy duty zipper - the zipper is plastic and not on par with the overall quality of the jacket. More athletic fit - I purchased the XL tall jacket (6'3" 235#) mostly for my monkey arms (39" dress shirt sleeves). The fit in the sleeves and shoulders is fantastic, but the fit around the belly is a little too rotund for me. Smaller hood - this hood seems as though it was made to fit over a football helmet. Soft liner for the collar - help to keep the chapped skin away from my chin. Other than those small changes, I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a bomber coat at a very low price.

My husband loves this jacket. He's not big on heavy winter coats so this one suits him nicely. It's not lined, so not all that warm. That was my only disappointment. I wish they'd indicated that this is really not a winter coat in the description. It's a little longer than the other Carhartt jackets, which is why I liked it in the first place. My husband is quite tall so I ordered a Large-Tall and it's perfect. He's received a lot of compliments on the coat and wears it everyday - which is a "win" for me.

JACKET IS BETTER THAN EXPECTED. FIT IS WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM CARHARTT (MAN SIZE) ARMS ARE GOOD LENGTH.REALLY KEEPS THE RAIN OUT AND STOPS THE WIND. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This is a great jacket, it is well made with quality materials and is a welcome addition to my "Carhartt Closet". I work outside year round on the CN Railway and I can honestly tell you the jacket is 100% waterproof and blocks out strong winds. The jacket is non-insulated but I just wear a fleece liner when needed. Buy it now you wont regret it.
