I purchased these pants and the jacket for my father for Christmas. He wears them constantly. Given what my father has put them through they are durable and extremely comfortable. My boyfriend steals them once in a while and swears they are the best. Not the greatest for winter months in NY but this is definitely aborigine worth the $!
Pros: Build quality, Great value, Lasts foreververy nice pants

The quality is comparable to snowmobiling pants that I spent 2x the money on. The one thing these don't have is built in gaiters at the bottom.
pants are wonderful, true carhartt quality

So these pants can be a bit bulky and stiff, they're no ultralight rain pant, but for what you pay they can do a great job, if you use them correctly. They seem to relax a bit in stiffness once they breakin and still reamain waterproof. They can be too warm if above 50F or warm winds instead of cold. I wear them for oil field work, and am hard on them. They show no signs of abrasion. I suggest wearing them with a long string tied at the middle through the side zippers. The buckles run outside of the zipper so run string on inside and use them to vent and close up pants to adjust heat without bothering to buckle or unbuckle the isdes. They'll even stay fairly waterproof in basic rain with zippers partially open. I like to wear these in cold weather or snow. At their price you can easily afford a base layer to help with claminess, and a pair of simple ultralight rain pants for the warm days when its not suitable. They can be warm but a bit thin on insulation for real snow pants, so if you're layering try to buy a bit big.
Pros: Great design, Great value, Cons: can be warm, bulkyWrite a review for the Carhartt Waterproof Breathable Pants here.
