Not as substantial as it looks in photo
November 13, 2012
I have to agree with the other review, whilst this coat is constructed well, it would be a great fall or spring jacket... but it's quite thin... I also found that it fits small, I got the next size up in order to wear sweaters under it.. but found that its very close fitting and I've lost weight so it should have fitted a bit looser!
Cons: Cost, Bad design, Low performance, not a warm coatHas Carhartt quality, but lacks winter warmth

I wanted this parka to be my go-to coat for blustery midwestern winters, but I think calling it a "parka" is overstating it just a bit. The pros: It has many of the great construction features that come with Carhartt clothes -- strong zipper, wind-flap, etc. -- and it is refreshingly cute for something coming from Carhartt's line of construction-grade clothing. The cons: The coat looks more substantial in the photo than it actually is. The "wool" fabric that makes up the exterior is surprisngly thin/light-weight. Even though the coat has an insulated lining, it's not sufficient for sub-zero temps, biting winds or heavy snowfall. It would make a wonderful fall jacket though.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: Low performanceCarhartt Women's Camden Plaid Wool Parka Photo
