Great vest for the outdoorswoman
April 18, 2011
Vest is very outdoorsy looking, stylish as well as functional. I love the pockets, and love the look and feel of the sherpa lining. It's one of my favorite articles of clothing.

warm and very very durable, fits generously which is nice for layering. Purchased this for my wife for a winter trip to Africa, so durability was a great concern. She loves it! Great for the outdoors!
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forevercan't part with it!

I love this warm comfy vest that fits a woman's body quite nicely with adequate room at the top and hips and contour at the waist. The sherpa is really soft and the vest looks really sharp on! Overall the vest is exactly what I wanted. The one exception and big disappointment is that it is very heavy. Never-the-less I am so hooked on it I am keeping it and hope the weight doesn't deter me from wearing it.
Feels so good to touch and to wear.

I have so much polar fleece that this duck cotton is a welcome change in outerwear. I feel like I should be wearing my stetson with the vest but it certainly makes a statement on its own. The Vintage Rose color is gorgeous. The sizing is perfect over a shirt but probably a size bigger if you expect to wear a sweater under it. You will love this vest.
Great Quality, Warm and Comfortable
October 20, 2009
This vest is really well made. It would stand up to hard work, but is nicely styled and looks great as part of a casual outfit. The fleece is soft and the dark brown is a rich chocolate shade. My only criticism is that it runs a little big. The women's cut flares out at the hips. It has a bell-shaped look out of the box, but I think that will flatten out after wear and a wash or two. Consider ordering a size smaller than usual if you want a closer fitting garment.
Fits weird
April 07, 2010
The vest looks much better in the picture. It is flared at the bottom to be more "shapely," but it looks strange. A straighter cut would be better. Too bad, because the fabric and overall quality is good. It looks too weird to keep.
Great looking, fits well, but too heavy
December 02, 2009
This vest is warm and stylish. However, I ended up returning it because it weighs too much. The 12 oz. cotton is heavy and it felt like carrying a pack on my back. If you wear it in town is OK, but on a hike . . .

Love the Vest

Pockets galore, Fits like it should and is cozy, been washed already and it came out looking great (I wash in cold water and then I hang to dry) Love the color Sandstone--goes with every color imaginable underneath (as you are layering up) I would recomend this vest to wear and to enjoy--once it goes on you really don't want to take it off ;^)

Nice but too fitted
November 10, 2009
Nice looking but it's too fitted. I wanted it to work outside in the winter, but the fit is such that you can't wear two layers under it. I also found the neckline to be a bit bulky. Bought a man's instead because it has a boxier fit - better for layering.
a perfect winter vest for racing in and out of the house

Love the style, length, color. A well-planned, quality, and practical wardrobe necessity.
Good but Stiff
November 08, 2009
I like the vest, very warm. But the material is very stiff even after several washings. Would like this better if the material would relax a little bit!

The quality and comfort of the Carhartt Sandstone Mock Neck Vest is of excellent quality. The warmth and comfort is just right for our area. like this vest
December 16, 2011
like this vest alot just wish the medium would have fit more like a true medium, which is what i always choose based on my 5'6" average build... was larger wider across the rib cage than would have liked...but i have kept regardless and wear it with bulkier clothing underneath. very warm and the materials wears well. great for working around the barn!

layering ftw
January 20, 2012
I bought my vest intentionally larger than would fit so that I could layer it for our (usually) cold winters in northern Illinois and it has worked wonderfully. It is far warmer than my down coat when I use it this way. Now I want to buy another one that fits so that I can wear it all the time!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueDurable Vest
January 24, 2011
This vest is very comfortable and quite durable. It runs true to size and is quite warm. I would definitely purchase this vest in another color because it's super cute!
Pros: Build qualityGreat for hiking
January 14, 2010
I live in an area filled with mesquite. Fleece has its advantages, but maneuvering through thorny bushes is not one of them. This vest lets me walk through terrain that would be otherwise inaccessible, and keeps me warm, too. The fit is perfect.

5+

I've had my vest for about 2 years and I love it so much. I wear it outside to work in yard and hike with my dogs. It is so warm and fits like girl clothes. I'm getting my sister one for Christmas!
Carhartt vest
December 02, 2010
I bought this for my girlfriend who had just had her previous Carhartt vest stolen a couple month's ago. She really likes it. Unfortunately Altrec only had the sandstone color & her previous one was the dark brown. It was still a very good buy.
