Rocks, muck, tree stumps..... oh my!
This paddle does what it claims. It is inexpensive, but bomb proof!
Have used this as my spare and white water paddle for years now and am still impressed with it's performance. Use it for everything: pushing off trees, rocks, other canoes, whatever, hardly even scratches! A year ago, was loading a canoe on the trailer (a good six feet in the air) when a snake darted between my friends legs. Needless to say the canoe fell to the ground, but it had fallen directly onto the paddle that had been propped up against the side of the trailer. It was only slightly bent and could have been used as it was, but I had time and after warming it with a hairdryer and taping it straight with a rubber mallet, it was good as new and has been used with success mulitple times since then. In short, you need a paddle, but don't want to pay top dollar? This one will do the trick!

Rugged inexpensive paddle
Great paddle for white water, emergency spare, Boy Scouts, or to loan to someone instead of your prized wooden paddle.
No complaints about this basic paddle very rugged so it makes a good paddle for shallow rocky areas, whitewater, or for a second paddle. I do a lot of Boy Scout trips and these paddles are perfect for the scouts; nearly indestructible and inexpensive if they loose one. At 6-1 185 with a lot of hours in the canoe I found the blade and the shaft smaller than I prefer for my main paddle but it is fine for a spare and a good size for a novice. Plus I actually prefer that the others in my canoe have less paddle than I do. In a canoe I like to let the inexperienced front person use a short one of these and then I can easily compensate and control the canoe with a longer and larger bladed paddle from the rear.
Will float for quite some time if paddle is dropped into water, but if paddle is intentionally submerged aluminum shaft will eventually fill with water and the paddle can sink when the shaft is full of water. It takes forever to drain the water out once the shaft has filled with water.

Perfect for youth groups
I am the committee chair of a Boy Scout Troop. Our number one activity is canoeing. We have canoed the Green River the Boundary Waters, and the Missouri. Scouts damaged most of the troop paddles. We the bought a Carlisle Economy Paddle for each scout. They could decorate the with any design they chose. NO MORE DAMAGED PADDLES!

great kid paddle
My daughter loves having her own paddle, sized to fit her. It's a great paddle for teaching and for general use. The construction seems to be as good as any on the market.

Great products, great service.
I purchased 6 carlisle paddles from altrec. The service was great, the price extremely resonable and I recieved them even sooner than promised. I will definitely order from them again.

Nice paddle
This is not my first experience with Carlisle paddles. I used them on the Colorado River. They are lightweight, sturdy, and easy to handle.

Well built
I have a 14ft bombard set up for SCUBA and freediving off the CA coast. Tanks, weight belts and other diving gear along with total exposure to salt water. Wooden paddles were warping being broken. These paddles are hanging tough.
