I really like these shorts. I found that they came up above my hips, not too low like most shorts for teens, and just a little below the belly button. They dry quickly, and don't wrinkle at all.
Just what I was looking for

Used these on an overnight raft trip on the Yellowstone last weekend and perfect. Been looking for a good board short or quick dry and these work great. Long enough to not flaunt more than you want when getting tossed through whitewater but not so long to get an aggressive short tan after 10 hours on the water. Has Velcroed pocket which is good although another might be nice (however if I had more I would inevitably jump in the water with both the phone and wallet so one is probably good). Pretty basic short.

Cute shorts - a little low
April 11, 2011
I think these shorts are very cute. I ordered a different style board short from Carve, which didn't have the draw string and ran a little large, so I found them sliding down my backside. The drawstring on these allow you to adjust a bit. They are still a bit low cut, though -- I am not so concerned with the front, but more concerned with the low rise on my rear end. That said, they are cute, comfortable, and will be great this summer for kayaking and the like.
For boy shapes

Cute shorts...but DO NOT purchase if you have any curves. (And I don't mean that as a euphemism for plump, I mean it literally) These board shorts are meant for those gals who are straight, with waist not a whole lot smaller than the hips. Think "Pink" or Britney Spears, not Beyonce or Kim Kardasian. I am tall (5'9") with a small waist and a JLo booty, and I had to order a larger size to fit the hips and then have the waist taken in at least 3-4 inches. Worse than normal. They also do not want to stay on so well...not the best thing when you're out in public, LOL! So for me I have to give these babies a thumbs down.

Just right for junk in these trunks

These are a great pair of light and soft board shorts. The only kind of surfing I do is online, so I can't speak to their functionality on the surf board, but I do appreciate a stylish alternative to bikini bottoms. I only wish there were more options for bikini tops. Also, I'd pay a few dollars more for a zip pocket.
Too low rise for me.

I wanted a functional pair of board shorts I could wear body boarding. These shorts are very low-rise (about 4" below the bellybutton). They didn't even come up to my hipbones, and even when I laced them up tightly, they felt like they were slipping down over my nylon bikini bottom (which has a higher rise than the board shorts). Unfortunately, I returned these. They just felt like I'd lose them when I take off on a wave. Beautiful fabric and print, though.
I love these shorts!

Cozy and perfect fit
Good fit and stylish for a 58 year old.

I wanted to substitute these shorts for regular swimming suit bottoms or skirts. They're a bit more sporty than a skirt and hide sagging skin syndrome. I'm happy with my purchase.
