Great to wear, not to pack for bicycle touring.
I like these sandals very much. They allow me to save my teva volterra sandles exclusively for bicycle touing. These sandals are for wearing, not packing/light gear. The big piece of rubber under your foot is great. When I hear people say they don't want heavy footwear I don't get it. Heavy is ok as long as you don't plan on taking it on some 15 thousands miles plus of bike touring. Oh, I got a deal on mine here at altrec, that alone makes me happy.

Best outdoor sandal on the market
These rugged sandals can go from river bottom to mountain top with ease. And they can be resoled for years of use. Webbing keeps sandals tight against your soles. Can't go wrong with Chacos.

The Best
I live in southwest Florida and have worn my Chaco Z/1 sandals every day, all day, for 5 years, mostly in a saltwater environment. The unaweep sole is nonmarking (good for use on flats boats)with a good grip. These are incredibly comfortable and durable; I'm ordering another pair! [Note: order one size smaller than your shoe size.] You can't go wrong with Chacos.

Well made
Feels comfortable and the straps are easy to use. Slightly heavy as compared to other sports scandals. As recommended before in an earlier review, a size smaller off my shoe size does fits better.

A quality product
I was introduced to these great sandals 12 years ago and have not found any other product/brand that is as committed to quality and function. I live in my Z1's all summer long. Some tips, clean the regularly, ad some Armor All or 303 protectant to help the webbing glide and resole them before you start wearing into the midsole, these babies will last forever!

A Really Cool Design for a Sandal
A friend told me about Chacos. I first Ordered a size 12, but they were a little small, so I Ordered a 13. Perfect fit. They may run a little Small? After getting familiar with adjusting the Straps, I really started admiring the Design of the Sandal. I like the feeling of having my toes free, I also like the great thickness of the heel, and arch support. I have a Situation with my left heel called, "Planters Fasciitis" A condition that is really Painful, and mysterious. The Sandals seem to help, I can Walk around almost feeling Normal. They are my foots best friends.

The best sandals
Great sole shape, sole texture, great stripes texture. The delivery, as always, the best. Until some time ago, I had another favorite sandals company, now the favorite one is Chaco from any point of view. I bought two pairs, one for me and another one for my husband. We both are very happy with them. Even if the price is above others, I preffer Chaco for the best quality.

Chaco (currently) makes the best sandal out there.
Four years ago my Alps sandals were ready to replace, but the factory had burned down and they were bought by Teva. Everyone recommended Chacos to me. I got a pair of Z/1 Terrino Soles. At first I was skeptical because they were pretty heavy and it took a while to break them in but once I got used to them they were great. The extra weight of the beefy soles helped walking on pavement and saved my knees. I wore them 6 months a year for four years all day every day to work and everywhere else. Last sumer I bought a pair of Z/2's but the loop around the big toe drives me crazy unless I am actively doing something. I wear them occasionally. This summer my first pair were in need of a re-sole and re-strap after 5 years of hard use. I had been jealous of the new lighter weight models this year and got them on a end of season sale for not much more than than the re-sole/re-strap. I can squeeze a little more life out of the old pair and get them redone next year!

Best trail sandals - period/ever!
I've had my Chaco's for 5+ years and bought these b/c the soles on my old ones final were completely slick. Still nothing broken and wearable, but they're no longer good for traction on dirt trails. I love the design of these sandals, b/c you can just slip your feet in and walk without putting the strap around your heel. Or you can slip over your heel and strap down. The non-Velcro design is great also for fishing when in a fast moving current, you don't have to worry about your sandals coming undone. The various designs they have on the straps are good looking also.

the best!
The Z/1's are the best sandals I have ever owned. They took a couple of times to get the straps adjusted right, but now they fit and feel great. Note:I wear one size smaller than I wear in shoes.
