Created for climbing in mixed alpine terrain conditions, the Kayland M11+ Mountaineering Boots for men have a board lasted construction and well-designed waterproof upper with integrated gaiters at the cuffs. In case you're wondering, board lasted boots offer excellent stability, although the design tends to run rigid without the sole flexibility found in some hiking boots (the trade-off is that flexible alpine boots tend to be less stable in places where you're confronted with toe holds instead of sidewalk-width ledges). The Men's M11+ Mountain Boot features Kayland's most rigid ECT (Engineered Composite Technology) insole and lasting board, pairing excellent torsional stability in the heel and a bit of side-to-side flex directly beneath the arch. The varied flex in the ECT insole and lasting board also creates a consistent toe push-off in varied terrain.
