A very Comfortable Fit
January 06, 2012

Backfill II Cargo Pants are a comfortable pair of pants, with just a bit more room at the waist and length. The material weight is good for 3 season wear. I would have rated the pants a five star but for the fact that the material is "noisy" when walking.

Great pants. Very comfortable. Only problem is leg pocket zipper isn't very good. Otherwise fantastic. Gonna wear in Argentina on dive shoot. I would recommend for work or play.

great pants

These pants are very comfortable and have the option of becoming shorts as needed. They wash well and dry very quickly. Lots of pockets !I like the pockets on the side instead of the front.

Backfill II's
October 10, 2011

Excellent product. Fabric weight about half of denim, which I like. Front pockets are deep, but not too deep. I need a 28 to 29 inch inseam, but all that is available is 30" & it works just fine because the bottom of the pants leg just small enough to bunch at the ankle instead of dropping down at the heel to get walked on. The 38" waist is a 38. Cargo pockets are large enough to be useful. Very comfortable, will be using for work, camping, fishing, yard work and everything but dress ups. Glad I bought 2 pair. Columbia has a winner here.

Casual but Good Looking
June 07, 2011

This the second pair of Columbia Backfill II Cargo Pants I've purchased. Just as the first pair (peat moss) these are very comfortable and cool (temp wise) pants. Easy to wear when hiking around to protect your legs from brush but easy enough to wear out to a casual dinner. You can pull them right out of your backpack and they're good to go. This pair does fit a little smaller than my first pair, even though they are the same size... my wife didn't notice it, but I feel it. I'd definitely recommend them.... AAMOF, I bought my son a pair for our mission trip down to Guatemala. Altrec had best price around and arrived when expected.

Pros: Build quality, Great value, looks good

Comfy and Neat Slacks
May 15, 2011

It's hard for me to find slacks that my husband likes and that are reasonably priced. He wears these all the time. This is the second order I have placed for this brand of slacks. Good quality and he says they're very comfortable.

Pros: Build quality, Great value, nice fit

Nice casual and functional pant
April 28, 2011

First Altrec performed as advertised. This order was filled accurately and quickly as in the past. I purchased both the Columbia backfill ll and backfill pant in different colors for comparison and found no clear visual or functional differences. The waist and Length seem true to size. The legs fit a little loose on me which I like for function. The Velcro and zipper closures are a nice security feature on the back and cargo pockets. The waist snap is e z to use and looks reliable. They launder well in cold H20 and with a unscented dryer sheet on perm press brings them out of the dryer almost wrinkle free. If you are a sharp pant crease fan you will need to use a steam iron or dry clean them. This is not a deal breaker for me but I recommend that Columbia extend the fly zipper 1 to 1.5 inches for better functionality in the necessary room if you catch my drift. I am comfortable that the vast majority of you will be satisfied with these pants in the office, on the town and obviously the field. However, if not, Altrec accepts returns so try them out. fish

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great value
