I use this short as my main equipment for all my outdoor activities. I live near the beach, I frequent a nearby park and play basketball and other games. After a big sweat, I dunk at the beach or at a pool and later I just dump the shorts in the wash and just let them hang dry for the next day. I have 2 similar pairs that have lasted me for nearly 4 years.

I've been wearing a version of these shorts for years. was unable to find them at retail stores in my area recently. the numerous pockets, zippers, and velcro allow me to wear these on the lake, beach, or anywhere else w/o worrying about losing gear or wallet or keys or phone or...you get the idea.

I use these shorts for hiking, especially on air travel trips away from home. They are light weight, comfortable, and dry quickly when laundered on the trail or in the hotel sink between day trips.

Product is light weight but long enough that it looks good out on a hike or on the beach. Works well as swim gear and does not cling to your body like running shorts.

Hi - this is more of a rant on Columbia sizing versus the shorts. The shorts were nice, but unfortunately too small.
I had previously ordered two other different Columbia shorts that turned out to be too big. This prompted me to order this short in a small which was too small.
Granted, each short was a different model, but shouldn't the sizing be the same across a company's product line. Therefore, buyer beware when ordering Columbia shorts online without trying them on.
Thank goodness Altrec is so great with their returns policy!

The shorts would be great, but i could not pull the waste band tight enough to fit securely.
Consider ordering a smaller size than you normally would for a pair of shorts, especially if you have a relatively slim wasteline.
