Living in the Interior of Alaska and my passion being out of doors hiking with my dogs I have found this boot to be quite comfortable and durable. My first was purchased locally in Fairbanks. When I returned to purchase another pair they didnt have my size---I turned to Altrec.Com found the boot and the price unbeatable. I am no on my 4th Daska Pass Omni-Tech Hiking Boot purchase. I love them.

I haven't owned these boots long, so can't really attest to their durability. The boots are very comfortable, but stiff. I like stiff for hiking boots, it gives my feet and ankles a lot of support and keeps me from pronating. I wore them hiking at Stone Mountain in Georgia. We walked about 2-3 miles over very rocky terrain with around 40 lbs on my back, with some fairly steep and wet inclines (wet granite to be exact). I only slipped once, and the shoes gripped after a very short 2-3 inches. My feet did not hurt at all after the hike, and neither did my ankles which is great considering the sideways slope on some parts of the trail. I can't wait to try them out on a longer hike.

This is the 2nd pair of Columbia hiking boots I've bought in 3 years. My old pair (Trail Meister)still are fully functional, but I've worn the souls smooth. LASTED ME 3 YEARS,....I'VE NEVER HAD A PAIR OF DAILY BOOTS LAST THIS LONG. These new Daska's are absolutely awesome! They took me about a week to break in the uppers,..but well worth the money.
